Hunting Totem poles? No, sorry, good question. I saw that too, but it never occurred to me that it might be a great pasture varmint round (50 yds). Anyone know? Mac.

Your talking about the wooden bullets in a regular live round.  I saw them once several years ago and thought they were a joke.  The guy behind the counter told me they were for some special purpose, and I thought he was yanking my chain.  Apparently they are a real thing.

WOW!  When I saw those I thought they meant the whole thing was wooden like a dummy round.

I know the Germans used wooden bullets for trainig purposes, I don't know what ranges they shot at, being that light it probably doesn't have much range.

Must be an anti-vampire round.   :D

Sorry, other than that, can't help.

Does that mean we can add Buffy to the best shootem up movie list?  She'll never replace the Duke or Clint, but she sure is cuter!

Yup, training ammo. basically a blank, but one that OSHA would never approve of, meant to function through the action, but not require special brass
I have one in 30 Army that looks more like rolled paper and one in what looks to be a 32 rimfire that may be a shotshell.
That brings up something else, I have a small number of old cartridges that I'd like to give away to some cartridge collector if they want to come and get them.  Not worth much but some, like the 10.4mm Swiss Veterli are interesting (rimfire, the gun had a double firing pin)

I remember seeing something like these years ago but it was advertised as artillery rounds and some 8mm Mauser.
