since I am fiddling around with those micarta grips....I am thinking about buying and/or building my own CNC router.
I found a place online that will sell plans for $25 and then like all the stepper motors and steel and what not would come in right around $1,000 for the whole sha-bang.
Father-in-law has one sitting in his barn. High dollar unit he uses for making faux log siding, we he doesn't his hired hand does.... Wait he fired his hired hand, I wonder what that thing is doing up there?
BTW I was in Benchmade's plant last fall on a tour with a bunch of Manufacturing engineers and they do their handles in some fancy gigs-WAY TOO much work for what they need and not very flexible (think 20 at time with one spindle). While your building one, put six spindle on a pitched center (or four or whatever) and do multiple parts at a time.
