Ammo Costs

I just picked up a brick of Federal jacketed HP, 36 gr, .22lr at Wally World for nearly 20 bucks which I thought was rather expensive.

I haven't bought .22 lr in a long, long time so that seems kinda high to me.

OTOH - Mills this week is running a sale on Federal 1000-round 5.56x45 FMJ for $300. They usually have sales on .22 for anywhere from $15 to $19 depending on brand and quantity. WW is not always the cheapest around.

But, yeah, what rojawe said.

Like Rojawe said, that has been pretty much standard for .22 around here since Der Leader took over as head of State.

Every so often Cabela's has Federal 36gr, 550-round boxes in 4-pack bulk (2100 rounds total) with a storage box (valued at $15) for $80. If you deduct the price of the storage box and couple it with a free shipping coupon (they offer them regularly), the price per box is $16.25.

*Right now they have $2 shipping on $49 orders.

Can't buy MO in Mass Peg!

Like everything else, .38 spcl is near .45ACP price too!  I can buy 100 rounds of .38 +p hollowpoints for 8 bucks less than standard .38 spcl if I can find them.  I didn't buy the .38 to plink with though so it's fine.

I borrowed my bro's S&W 317-3 revolver to get some trigger time with a couple of newbs.  We can shoot all morning for 20 bucks.  I just hadn't bought any in so long I was shocked at the price.

Yes, one of the stupider laws here in the Commonwealth!  I have no clue why either.  I presume to prevent unlicensed gangbangers from buying it but since you can drive 1/2 hour in any direction but west here and be in CT, ME, RI, NH or VT it's pretty much a moot point.  Bangers are going to get their tools one way or 'tother......criminals don't have borders!
