Could you ever imagine this marching down Constitution Ave in Washington?

Isn't it nice of them to line up in neat rows, makes target alignment that much easier ;D ;D

When seconds mean the difference between life and death, the police will be minutes away.

You are either SOLVING the problem, or you ARE the problem.

And we can target them too, just like the Afghans and Iraqis:

Sad part is it was probably figured out by a 14 year old while stuffed in his locker at school.   :-\

We would do well to remember that an army that can drill as a unit this well, can fight as a unit, dispite the battlefield "fog of war". Do not discount these people, our nations enemies..
Our commanders would sacrafice security for MWR, as detailed in the link on the AH-64s. Do you suppose that would change, as a unit, were Command to put out orders to the contrary? Not readily, I would suggest...
There's much to be learned from this thread, should pride be put aside..
Just an unwelcome thought...

MORE MOAB'S......

Thomas Jefferson: The strongest reason for the people to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against the tyranny of government. That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."
Col. Jeff Cooper.

Even if there losses was ten to 1 they would still have enough of an army to walk over any country in the world USA included. Luckily they dont have to they just have to call in their loans. Lose a million soldiers dont worry theres another million where they come from, and another, and another and another.

Heres some interesting facts

A couple thoughts on the video in the OP:

Them commies sure do love their pageants, don't they?

And gaudy uniforms.

Reminded me of insect colonies in its organization. Not putting the Chinese down, but it did lead to that thought, and then to Heinlein's comments about humans and insects.

The discipline that this kind of show requires is incredible, but I wonder how that would translate to the battle space? This demonstrates hours (days? Weeks? Months?) of drill practice (not spent in tactical training in military activities) where people are yelling and undoubtedly flogging for failures. In the Revolutionary War, drill like that was required to maintain unit cohesion in order to maximize firepower with the arms of the day. Today, not so much. Some drill, but not sure that drill to this level really provides value other than being very pretty. IMHO this is very specialized training - which leads me back to Heinlein.

And that leads me to wonder if the Chinese have truly abandoned the "human wave" approach to combat, since as Sledge noted there are always another million to throw in around here someplace?

Compare and contrast this drill with the nature of the assault by Dick Winters and his squad on the 3 German artillery pieces at the start of Normandy as depicted in Band of Brothers.

Is everyone in the world except the US going to bullpups? Brits, French, Israelis, Chinese? I want one!

A couple of well-placed tactical nukes would have ruined the whole parade.  :o  ::)  8)
