Pike County, IL. voters approve Concealed Carry ordinance

PASA Park, Barry, IL -- In the election held Tuesday, March 20, 2012, the voters of Pike County, Illinois, approved a firearms concealed-carry ordinance by a 3,214 to 550 margin. It was one of the largest voter turnouts in county history. The ordinance directly contradicts current Illinois state law. As presented on the ballot, the ordinance took effect upon passage, and applies only to Pike County. The ordinance was placed on the ballot by a citizen initiative petition process that garnered three times the number of signatures required by law.

Good,....before Darth Rahm, unleashes bloody horse heads into the beds if the Pike County Commissioners, I hope they stand united and do it the old fashioned way, grass roots and with a similar majority referenced in the OP....

Pike County is nor-norwest of St. Louis!

Darth Rahm has no power outside the City of Chicago......they'll tell him to piss up a rope! 

Illinois ain't all bad....just the cities of Chicago and Springfield...

Rahm has no power outside of Chicago? Who the hell got legislation introduced to put a tax on all handguns in the state? That was his idea. He just didn't get the $65 he wanted, he got $25. No power? Yeah right.

I'm just hoping the County Sheriff has the cajones - and manpower - to arrest any of the state wankers who come in and try to arrest Pike County citizens who are carrying concealed. That would be an interesting situation, and I would love to see it.

Remember, the County Sheriff is the top law enforcement officer in the county - not the state troopers.
