It's the only way to be sure.

I went to undergrad a few blocks south of there. That part of St. Louis was always iffy. Students had apartments there cuz it was cheap, and a couple of frats had houses there (ditto), but you always walked in groups, especially at night. Nice to see some things just never change!  ::)

Path, that area has changed. It's gotten a lot worse. Wash U. students are warned not to go out at night except in groups. Unfortunately, the trashies prey on the students cause they figure they're rich and defenseless I guess. I don't go through there unless I'm armed. Not recommended for tourists. Stay down town or on the south side. If you have time the brewery is a nice tour, Shaw's Garden is spectacular this year, and of course the Zoo is good and all close by.

It is time for law enforcement to take a page from the hockey officiating handbook:

When violence becomes too extreme and common during a game, step back and utter the three most feared words ever heard by a hockey enforcer:

Let 'em fight!

The trouble with that in this case there are a lot of non-trashie types who will be innocent bystanders because of the poplar businesses in that area. Now you've got the trashies fighting the trashies and they don't care who they hurt. By the way this is the first time in a year something like what Tyler posted has happened. Most of the crime in that area is limited to one on one type crimes.

Big Picture thinking time...

All within the last month:

40+ folks shot (many bystanders, and few thugs) in one single weekend in Chicago, this shooting at the Univ. @ Oakland, Ca. today, the 14 wounded 2 killed (innocent bystanders killed) at a funeral home here in N. Miami on Sat. and now St. Louis. The Detroit vid posted here at DRTV by EMS....(Sounded like Baghdad in 04)...

These kinds of stories are now going to get MSM attention, and a lot of it, especially after the Trayvon Martin Case, only to be exploited for cries of more gun control laws by the anti's that always do....Schumer, Feinstien, Boxer, Durbin, Darth Rahm, Bloomberg, etc,..et al...

They will get pressure from other liberal Police Chiefs in Liberal cities to "do something"....

Not the fact that the majority of blacks and latino's are killed by other blacks and latino's, not that gangmembers target and kill other gangmembers, and they can't shoot so bystanders are generally always hit. The fact the BG's will get guns no matter how restrictive a state, doesn't matter.

Chicago? Oakland? Please,.....don't tell me tougher gun laws will change a damn thing....

The MSM, working along with a BHO Admin. are making sure you see stories of shooting, death, and mayhem....Because they have an agenda....Remember what the Brady Bunch Pres. said: "We're working under the radar."  That has not gone away.

The sheeple will get overwhelmed and finally support the will of Liberal State Gov'ts. and the Feds, to affect "change"....

If BHO gets re-elected, you'll see how bad it will get for the members of society (aka the LEGAL Gun Owner) who pays for the CCW permits, fingerprints, training, proper firearm protocol, and safety.

It is going to worse before it gets better. (and it simply may not get better with 4 more of BHO.)...

That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."

oh....about...6 or 7 years ago, I was shacking  up with a gal, who talked me into meeting some of her friends at some oyster bar in St. Louis.

So afterwards, I had to stop into a station to get gas.  I am standing there with my hand on the nozzle, and some bum comes up to me and says, "gib-me-a-dolla"

I said, "Sorry, man, I don't have any cash."

Just then I hear the girlfriend hitting the power locks.  She's in the passenger seat giving me scared looks.

So the bum sat there on the curb of the gas pump drinking out of his brown bag.

I filled it up.  Got the receipt.  Motioned to the GF to unlock the doors and hopped in.

She looked at me as I took my sweet time getting belted in and starting up the truck, and said, "Weren't you scared?"

I said, "Pffft....NO!"

She looked at me quizzically.

"You couldn't see that my hand was on the nozzle with the trigger squeezed back all the way, could you?"

She sat there for a second.  I could see the gears turning, the light clicked on and she goes, "Oh....OHHHHH!!!....You would...????"

"You're damn skippy I would.  Wouldn't even had thought twice about it actually."
