Sorry i don't have any good links to give you.

But it sounds like the ATF is trying to make it easier to buy NFA items in those free-er states.

You will no longer have to ask for the sheriff's or chief's permission

I've heard that as well.  Now, if they could only figure out that a suppressor is not a machine gun.

yeah, I am with Michael Bane on that particular issue.  a can doesn't necessarily deserve a $200 tax stamp.

but I imagine, that the ATF rather likes that type of money coming in.

I wonder if they ever release how many Form 1's they approved say like in 2011???

The information is out there.  I don't know where but it is out there. 

And the cleo signoff thing has been talked about for years.  Don't expect it to happen anytime soon though.

My understanding is why cans were added to the nfa was do to the fear of poachers.   they are not that hard to make.  The only reason they cost what they do is due to the legal bs and low preduction levels.
I always break all the clay pigeons,  some times its even with lead.
