Video at link. However, at "first" glance, the news crew that filmed it just saw an "unarmed" black man fleeing from an officer who starts hitting him with his baton....until submission and arrest.

That's NOT the WHOLE STORY......

Barike Wiltz, a parolee, was violently arrested in Stockton, CA, Tuesday after he got into a fight with a police officer and tried to take his gun.

The entire episode started when an allegedly intoxicated and belligerent Wiltz got into a scuffle with a Stockton policeman. While the officer had him in what looks like a headlock, Wiltz made a grab for the officer’s gun.

“I thought it looked like Rodney King being beaten, it seemed like it was too much,” witness Trevon Edwards told ABC News 10.


But the police stand by their actions.

“The suspect grabbed the officer’s gun and tried to pull it out of the holster, because of that, we used any force necessary to stop the suspect and make an arrest,” Det. Joe Silva said.

When you see the OTHER Video, of the BG flagrantly trying to get the officers pistol, uh,....guess what? The Cops don't play nice anymore, when you try to grab their guns....

and he's a parolee? Probably part of that lovely prisoner release program for "non-violent" criminals to be let out due to California's budget.....

If he went for a cops gun, he deserved to get thumped. Just my opinion.

The guy got away, and was found later by more cops....who proceeded to beat him again....it did not seem like there was resistance reported the next time.

Cops can use force to stop a crime, over come resistance, and  for sure to prevent their weapon from being taken...but do we want them to use force, as in beating a suspect when they decided he needs to be punished?

Yes. This big guy, is no stranger to encounters with law enforcement. If he is "stupid" enough to go to grappling with an officer, and try to take his weapon, the Po-Po have no idea what to expect....So they use whatever force is necessary whether he flees or not.

That's why for hundreds of years, LEO's from all over the world carry nightsticks, shellelagh's, blackjacks, batons, over in Asia it's big long bamboo sticks and canes for attitude adjustments as needed....

Scrap with cops, try to take his gun,....certainly this genius of modern society chose the "hard" way...

Perhaps next time, after he gets out AGAIN....he'll comply with an officers commands and do it the "easy" way...
