This is for a friend, who had his sights on a larger vision than I could ever know. He died last month in Iraq. Notified by family.

To Tombogan, as i am tearfully writing this, thank you. and thank you to all who have served that are on this forum, your avatar means more now than I ever knew. I would go tomorrow if they would take me.

This one is VERY close to home, and it hurts. BUT they did not die in vain.

He enlisted after 9/11 and swore he would "get those SOB's". He did., and he took as many with him as he could.

Thank you DRTV and all you guys on this forum, THis one is close and I thought I would share the news.

Thank you Tom, its difficult to know what I feel at this point,I feel a little shell shock or something, I dont know. thank you for your reply, your avatar photo just sticks with me, and the video was just an attachment, but as I watched it all the way through, it was kinda tough. As I'm sure its tough on many others. Its what we do, and Bobby would want us to "get on with it" as he would say.

As a Nation, we are engaged with an enemy unlike any other in US history. Before it is resolved, I believe each one of us will be involved in one way or another. Like the citizens in New Your, D.C., and Pensylvania, who were not on active duty during the attack, we all have a role to play. And a sacred debt to repay.

Celebrate is life and try not to mourn his passing.  He walked his own path and paid in full measure for us to be free.  That your path is different does not make it less important, only you can do that by giving less than your full measure.

Be proud that he called you friend, as you knew a true hero.

My condolences for the loss as well.  The best a stranger can do is to pray for the family, but know this, that loss is not in vain.  Every sacrifice made provides many of us the ability to raise our families as patriots and live as patriots every day.  My family did not have to fight that enemy here because we were blessed by the souls of thousands who fought and died for us in this latest battle.  Even though our corrupt government has faultered in a way that exposed us to harm within our borders, there is a remnant bought with that lost blood who recognizes the sacrifice and readies themselves for the time when events that led to the birth of this nation may revisit us.

My heart cries with you on the loss of your friend. 
 It is such a blast to the soul when it hits so close to home. Even though we know it is going on every second..it is still a punch of reality to have it take someone we have loved,  laughed with, and shared life with.
Know that I will light a green candle today and infuse healing thoughts in it for the family, so that they might have a teeny bit of comfort sent to them via the spiritual realm of our earthly world.

Please let them know that there are many who share their grief. ...and their pride in Bobby.
