Paying those drones the minumum is a great idea. Many politicians talk about the sacrafices they make to "serve" us, lets see them make some REAL sacrafices. None of those drones leave office poor.
 However I don't think it is a good idea to raise the minumum wage, I'm not well informed on financial / economic matters, but my understanding is that raising the minumum wage leads to inflation and increased prices in a ripple effect through out the economy. Besides, those wls in Washington already vote themselves raises every year now. Pay them minimum wage and REMOVE thier power to raise it.

If it was such a good thing to vote in automatic cost of living increases for themselves so they don't have to face political pressure, why isn't it a good thing to put the same automatic cost of living in minimum wage?

This is a whole can of worms that can go so many directions that I don't want to touch.  However, there needs to be something done when someone we elect can raise their own wages (and blame it on someone else), but they hold the line on or cut benefits for groups like veterans. Or, why can they be guaranteed a retirement so good they don't need to rely on the same SS plan we are all funding but will get limited benefit from?

It is real simple. They do it because they can. And we, idiots that we are, continue to elect the same jerks year after year. Can you spell Kennedy? Boxer? Pelosi, Reid and so on.

 We PAY THEM?   Who knew.

Actually I think they should do it for gratis.  Maybe travel expenses (coach.....as in bus).  On the national level give them small apartments (1 bedroom efficiencies) to live in when they're there.

It's a part time honorary job.

What do you mean by  "political pressure"?  If it is what I think it is they should be in prison not office.

You know if minium wage would have been applied and updated proportionally, as it was suppost to be , the minium wage now would be well over $20.00/hr. It was suppost to be a minium wage that would pay all the bills and still support a family etc.  What happened???

Wanna hit em where it hurts? Take away their lifetime pay and put them on Social Insecurity when they retire. I'll guarantee ya, everyone of them would die of old age in office. They couldn't live on SS, but they expect us to.

I say take them out of D.C. except for caucuses, etc. Put them back in their home states where they belong. Take those credit cards away from them that they burn up $80 mil a year on our dollars buying prostitutes, fancy hotel rooms, live-in-boyfriends, fancy parties etc. Put their asses in Motel 6. They'll even leave the lite on for the scumbags.
