Dream Act BS
« on: June 15, 2012, 03:04:50 PM »
Obama Announces Amnesty for Hundreds of Thousands Today!
We need your help NOW to stop the Obama Administration’s DREAM Act!

This morning, the Department of Homeland Security announced that it intends to ignore the Constitution, usurp Congressional authority, and administratively implement the DREAM Act.  The announcement came through an official policy memo, signed by Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano, followed by a conference call led by Napolitano herself.  According to this announcement, effective immediately, the Obama Administration will stop deporting illegal aliens who qualify for the DREAM Act by granting these illegal aliens “deferred action” and work authorization.

Deferred action status is what DHS grants when it decides, in its own discretion, not to remove an illegal alien. Those who receive deferred action usually also receive work authorization and DHS has confirmed that illegal aliens granted deferred action pursuant to the new policy memo (dated today, June 15, 2012) will be eligible for work authorization. There is no statutory basis for deferred action status, as it is merely referred to in the federal regulations (See, e.g. USCIS Ombudsman memo, Apr. 6, 2007 (citing 8 C.F.R. 274a.12(c)(14)). Even more troubling, deferred action is not subject to judicial review. (Reno v. American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Comm., 525 U.S. 471, 484, 492 (1999))

While this new policy is effective immediately, Secretary Napolitano has directed U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) to create an application process that will be fully operational within 60 days.  The DHS estimates that nearly 1 million illegal aliens will be given a reprieve through its new policy!  (To read more details about the announcement, please see our website.)

FAIR is urging all of our members, activists, and friends to LOUDLY voice their objection to the Obama Administration’s new policy.  We need the Obama Administration to hear the voices of Americans across the country who believe in the rule of law, otherwise it will only hear kudos from the amnesty lobby.

Please call the White House, the Department of Homeland Security, and your members of Congress and tell them:

You believe in the rule of law; it is the bedrock of our great nation.
You want an immigration system with integrity and our immigration laws enforced.
Congress, not the Executive Branch, has sole authority to establish our immigration laws; it is the responsibility of the Executive Branch to enforce them.
You object to rewarding illegal immigration through “deferred action” or any other executive maneuver.
It not only undermines the rule of law, but only encourages more illegal immigration.
It also is an act of shameless political pandering five months before the presidential election.

Tis the season to grant amnesty to illegals.  This is a great election year tool often used by the left  >:(

Grant amnesty, stand on the corner and hand out money, divide by race and wealth, and promise a free ride ... What a way to win an election  >:(

I thought that BHO just got up and said the DHS would be announcing it?

Obama Jobs Program: Help Illegals Compete with Americans for Scarce Jobs

Today, the Obama Administration, in an obvious attempt to boost the President’s flailing reelection campaign, announced that it would bypass Congress and rewrite the nation’s immigration laws.

The Obama administration will stop deporting and begin granting work permits to younger illegal immigrants who came to the U.S. as children and have since led law-abiding lives. The election-year initiative addresses a top priority of an influential Latino electorate that has been vocal in its opposition to administration deportation policies.

The second sentence of the Associated Press story addresses the true impetus for the policy change; election-year politics. Obama, and today’s Democrat party, see the electorate as a patchwork-quilt of interest groups. Sprinkle enough goodies on certain blocks of voters and they believe they can put together just enough support to win. It can work to a point. But, when the pandering to specific groups undercuts one’s overarching narrative it can erode support in the overall electorate.

Tom B
DHS announced it earlier in the morning, at least that's what Fox News said before BO came on.

Breaking Alert! Obama implements DREAM amnesty by executive fiat!

In an election-year ploy, the Obama Administration has implemented much of the DREAM Act amnesty by executive action. About 800,000 illegal aliens will be covered by the new policy.

Especially during a time when so many Americans are out of work, should we be encouraging even more illegal immigration with another amnesty?

Rep. King has promised to sue the bho bunch and get a court order stopping this nonsense. Good luck with that. Even if he wins, King and the courts can't stop the bho's from just not deporting the kids.

I don't understand why the Republicans just don't come out in favor of total border security? The white votes they would gain would completely offset any hispanic votes they would lose. Most of the hispanic voters live in Democratic states to begin with, so they are "lost" with no hope of getting them back. So what's the difference? They keep dancing around in a circle about this and it's stupid. If Romney went on national television and said: "We're gonna build a border fence from Brownsville to San Diego so tall and strong NOTHING will penetrate it. And if anyone does they'll be met with the firepower of GOD!" The election would be over 5 minutes after he said it.

Seems someone dug up a video or audio of obama saying the President didn't have the power to grant amnesty and it was from 2011 so stayed tuned. The Worst President ever
