Gas Prices Dropping....
« on: June 25, 2012, 04:45:30 PM »
In our area, gas prices have fallen to under $3.00 per gallon this week. I didn't think they would ever get back below the $3.00 mark. Normally gas prices rise at this time of the year and then drop off somewhat in the fall when the blend changes in some areas.....so it is odd that they are down now........except for the explanation of being election related.

I figure the prices will drop a little more and then level off through election time and the shoot back up.

I don't think the Mess-aye-ah had anything to do with this one in the way one might think.

HOWEVER, it can all be laid at Odamna's feet because the lack of work precedes the lack of demand.  Lack of demand precedes drop in price. And the lack of work is directly attributable to the anointed one's policies.

You can be assured, however, that he will take the credit and shuffle the blame off toward Bush or those other evil Republicans.

The angle a friend brought up in conversation yesterday after church was something like: if dropping prices could be used by the Dem's to make it look like der leader had anything remotely to do with it, then it could play towards his re-installment as PotUS.........and the Dem policy of 'no-drilling in US' and 'continued dependence on foreign oil' actually plays into the oil companies hands.

And here again we're led to believe that 3 bucks a gallon is "cheap"!

I feel the same way.  Prices are at $3.49 or a little lower around here.  I have to stop myself from thinking it's cheap.  I just remind myself it's still more than double what it was when Oblama took office.

Home heating oil has also dropped about 80 cents the last couple of weeks.
It's down to $3.19
But it was $1.99 in March of 09

Yes and I'm out about 300 bucks because I bet that it would go up, not down!  I bought 270 gallons in March at 4.25...

Don't feel bad Tim, it could have gone the other way just as easily.
The only hint you had was that it's an election year.
On the other a natural disaster in the middle east could send it back through the roof tomorrow.
(Even though we actually get very little oil from there. )

Am I the only one that is getting screwed in this country  ???

Two weeks ago I was in the Cities working and the highest price I saw was $3.45.  The next after noon when I started home and wanted to fill up it was suddenly $3.59.  I grumbled about not doing it the night before while sitting in the hotel room.  Then as I drove home I heard how gas prices were dropping.  Over the next several days I say it go as high as $3.72.  Tonight I stopped and filled the bike and it was back down to $3.65 (down from the $3.68 I paid on a ride yesterday).

Why is everyone else getting a bargain, and I'm still finding sand and broken glass in my K-Y  :'(

I don't know Mike but we're at 3.39 here today.  There was a slight increase due to hurricane Debby this week but it's settled out again.  It can vary about 15 cents from here to the next town though.  What are your taxes in MN?
