Many of us think gun related companies should mo0ve their jobs and taxes to states that are actually friendly toward the industry.
Here's one that did.
Let's keep them in mind when we go shopping.

KEENE — Samson Manufacturing celebrated its new location on Forge Street with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and some good old-fashioned target shooting Friday afternoon.

“It's just so exciting to have a company move from Massachusetts to New Hampshire,” said U.S. Sen. Kelly Ayotte, who attended. “We all know how great New Hampshire is, but this is a great reflection of it. And we are so excited to have a great small business here in New Hampshire, especially in these challenging economic times.”

Samson manufactures firearm accessories for law enforcement, military and commercial customers.

“The work that's done here is incredibly important to our men and woman in uniform who still fight on our behalf, as we stand here, in Afghanistan and other areas of the world,” Ayotte told the crowd.

The company moved its operations from Whately, Mass., to Keene this spring, bringing with it the promise of 25 new jobs.

Owners Scott and Cathy Samson have lived in Spofford for the past 12 years.

“First of all, we live here. Number 1, it's a much shorter commute to come to work,” said Cathy Samson. “Plus, I think business opportunities are a little bit greater here in New Hampshire as far as taxes go. And I think it's a more gun-friendly state than Massachusetts.”

Samson works closely with gun manufactures such as Sturm, Ruger & Co. in Newport and Sig Sauer in Exeter, she said. “So it brings us closer to our customers.”

Samson was also looking to expand. The company left its 12,000-square-foot plant and moved into a 20,000-square-foot building on Forge Street this April.

“Absolutely loving it,” Cathy Samson said of moving to New Hampshire. “We're loving all the support we're getting from all our local agencies.”

Under the instruction of Samson-sponsored professional shooters Brian Vaught and Bryan Ray of Kentucky, Ayotte hit targets using a rifle, a handgun and a shotgun at the Samson test range after the ribbon cutting.

Both professionals said Ayotte “did exceptionally well.”

2 interesting (at least to me...) comments.

1) Born and raised in Keene, graduated High school there on June 19th 19xx had the 20th off and was at Ft. Jackson SC for a 10 year hitch in the U.S. Army the 21st...

2) U.S. Sen. Kelly Ayotte's mother was my 3rd grade teacher, and remember seeing her as an infant in her mothers class room
