Timothy, you stole my post.  I just finished it too and was sitting here debating whether or not to post on here.

It wasn't quite the hold you on the edge of your seat action movie I anticipated, but it had a simple elegance that I truly appreciated.  It was pretty much entirely believeable unlike most movies.  Most importantly, the weapon handling and tactics seemed pretty much spot on.  It's frustrating watching movies where the "professionals" walk around with the fingers on the triggers, sweep each other, and DON'T AIM.

One particular thing stood out to me with regards to the weapon handling.  Reloads where not rushed or panicky; they took a relatively slow, methodical approach to changing m4 mags.  I guess it's kind of like the quote attributed to Wyatt Earp.  "Take your time in a hurry."  No need to do it fast if you do it wrong.

Some buddies and I saw it in the theaters opening night.  The acting wasn't the greatest, but the dialogue was true to life.  Mkm is right about it being nice to see good gun handling.  There were people that were moved to the point of tears at the end of the movie and normally with a packed theater you have people talking...this time people were quiet and respectful.  I went to bed feeling a lot safer knowing they are doing what needs doing

Ummm, DUH of course the weapons handling and tactics were done right.  The entire Team were Active Duty.  It is what they do for their regular jobs.  They actually did a decent job of playing actors.

If you have the full DVD, watch the interviews of the Team.Great stories.

Bought the DVD. Loved the River scene during "extract".....Nothing keeps the BG's heads down like M134's and belt fed M-60's.

Made me go back into my Literature books and get re-acquainted with Tecumseh and Faulkner.

The ending is sad, but true to form.  The yacht "Starship" is often docked at Rybovich Yacht Club in Palm Beach.

Well worth watching.

I wasn't able to see it in the theaters - that would have been incredible to see on a big screen. I did just see it about a week or so ago, bought the blu-ray/DVD combo pack when it came out, and I don't even own a blu-ray player (yet).

Really good movie, knew that the "actors" were mostly real SEALs going in, so I figured the missions would be incredible and mostly accurate; loved the tactics - especially the sniper whacking a guy on a pier and one of the SEALs in the water behind the guy to catch him to avoid a splash. The hot river extract was right out of Nam - with better gear!

All in all an impressive homage to those who do as Orwell said - rough men who let us sleep safe at night.

I watched a few days ago with the wife.  Her throat was tight for the majority of the movie and paused a few times to have me clarify chain of command, rank and all the stuff military guys take for granted.

+1 for the extract scene, just cool watching our tax dollars used wisely for once

I picked up the DVD a few weeks back. A really good movie. Easy to follow, and well written.
