It is ugly and it is black and it's .45 acp. And belive it or not it;s a blast to shoot. I picked up a...wait for it...Hi-Point .45 carbine. I know they get some crappy reviews on the pistols, but for 200.00 bucks I figured I would give it a try. Took it to the range and the low WHOMP! of the muzzle report was pretty cool. I've never shot a pistol cal. carbine and I like it. No it wont be my home defense gun but it is fun at the range.

And if you have to bug out, it allows you to carry ONE caliber of ammo for both your handgun and your long gun.

Their products are heavy, crude, clunky, priced so any one can afford one, made in the USA, and they go bang every time you pull the trigger.

I have seen some massive problems with their pistols but this little carbine went bang with every thing I fed it. We had two of their 9mm go through pistol class for carry permits and both failed to the point the guys had to borrow pistols to finish.

Hi;
You will find that the biggest problem for the HiPoints are the Mags and Failure to feed properly from them. If you Mic and check the mags you can adjust the lips to get everything set right. If you have the time and get brand new mags - just load them up and set them aside for a few months and that may get the lips formed right.
The second problem may be a burr on the ramp feed. disassemble and careful filing or soft wheel grinding a "Hair" off will take care of that problem.
Check out HiPoint forum and do research on back posts of a few years ago ( comes with pic's )....

The .45 is 9 rounds in the carbine. I've read online that HI-Point is working on a high cap mag for them.

Feel free to post pics in the "ugly" gun thread,...
But hey, it's Made in the USA, and if it works for you, enjoy it...
