HBO is among the top services I will not buy, they have always pushed a far left agenda and being a subscriber just helps them get their liberal nonsense on the air. When they have free preview weekend I get as many movies that we may watch as I can and but I don't copy any of their slanted BS and am never tempted to subscribe. However their success just shows that there are enough brain dead people out there to make them profitable.

It's not so much "brain dead people" that have made them a success, they have had some good series, Rome, Soprano's , and Deadwood were all good.

HBO is one of the few channels I actually watch. With series like Band of Brothers, The Pacific, Deadwood, Rome, The Wire, Boardwalk Empire, Game of Thrones etc I can live with the aberrations such as Bill Maher and now the Newsroom. Some of their programming is plain crap, some entertaining and some just plain dumb. But they do have some excellent programs.

The newsroom started out as an interesting idea, but the political crap has destroyed the show. That and a certain vile abomination as one of the actors.

It is also important to learn what the other side is putting out there, "Know your Enemy"....

I even choke down the bile and watch Maher occasionally, when he has Nugent on. Just wish Ted would go for the jugular more often and stop being a nice guy.

I enjoyed the whole first season of Boardwak Empire one free weekend and first season of The game of Thrones another. The others can be found at half.com for less then their price at Samsclub and none of the profits make in to the pockets at HBO.
