I would love to know how much training he has taken over the years, if any. I hope I can still pull the trigger at 71.

I bet he doesn't shoot USPSA either....but that'd just be speculation.

Like Tom said in another thread a while back, if you read many accounts of SD shootings (such as in American Rifleman) the overwhelming majority are oldsters and regular folks who never in a million years expected to be involved in a shoot-out....but won because they A) had a mindset to not be a victim, and B) they had a gun.
I would gamble and bet that the ratio of folks in gunfights that are "well-trained" (non-LEO) versus the number that have never received any training (like the 60+ year old Alabama lady a few years ago) would be way off level.

To some extent the lack of knowledge might even be an advantage.
A skilled knowledgeable shooter is aware of the seriousness of the situation, and the forces they are about to unleash.
The total neophyte only thinks "make it stop".
It comes back to mindset.

Is it just video angles or do I see a major screw up on the part of the old guy ?
It appears that he engages the robber with the pistol who moves closest to him while ignoring the robber with (what appears to be ) the shot gun who had moved off the lower left of the screen.
