You know why people feel the need to torture their Glocks?  Cause they is the ugliest gun ever made, and they WANT to tear them up so they can buy a 1911!

You are probably right.  This poor sucker has been trying for 10 years and 150k rounds to bust this G21 so he could get a nice 1911....

I really thought it was a goner when I saw all that rust every where after spending a day is rock salt and water....

He said he plans to throw it out of an airplane at an as yet undetermined altitude, but the slowest the plane can go is 65mph...

He did run some of the tests with a pistol a buddy loaned him...wasn't a 1911, but if you are proud of yours, maybe you could let him use  yours?

I've seen this before a while back and actually watched some of the videos then.  That guy is crazy.  I could not, in good concious, do that to any firearm.  Glad it worked though.  I can attest that the corners of the slide, particularly the muzzle end, are the first place to show significant wear and rust after a long, humid, sweaty day.  They clean up even then though.

A lot of it while impressive is extremest BS, Dropped from a plane ?
What on earth could you do to a gun that would subject it to that sort of impact.
Besides, since it landed in soft soil it looks a lot more impressive than it actually was .
Bury in sand and mud I can see, even tow behind a truck.
Lets see it at 120 degrees in the shade and -40 degrees.
How about a coupe pallets of ammo and shoot it  until it doesn't go bang any more, or at least is no longer capable of hitting a 12" X 24" target.

After seeing this a couple of years ago, and the other vids of the same extreme abuse,....That's when I drank the Kool-Aid, joined the Dark Side, and got my G21.

Ugly? Very much so.
Easy to conceal?  Nope.
Big & Blocky?  Yep.
Accurate? Yep.

Go BANG everytime? I bet my life on it.

and I baby it, shower with it, and shoot good ammo through it....

Notice I'm wearing a S&W t-shirt,.....at the G booth at NRA.... ::)

I suppose a half dozen makes me a "fan boy", or whatever. But it would be the first gun I grab to carry, or ruin someones day who decided to come visit through a window. These things kind of "grow" on you after you shoot them for a while. They are so boringly reliable and accurate I can't seem to get away from them. It seems the more rounds you pour through them the better they run. I would love to know the actual percentage of factory handgun ammunition that is sold in this country, that winds up being run through Glocks every year?

I've gone to the factory Glock 12 shot mags on the Glock 26 since I took this photo. It gives me more to hold on to, plus 2 more rounds

OCD would be more like it.  Kind of like Imelda Marcos and shoes ;D

Actually I thought of you when I wrote my previous post about seeing how it held up in extreme weather.
I have only heard 3 valid complaints about Glock, some don't like the grip angle, or diameter, neither of those bother me, but I will agree with those who do not care for the longer trigger pull, than with a cocked revolver or 1911, that, however, is something I could get over with enough practice.

I think an interesting outcome or "take" from all this guys testing, including the test of a pistol just returned from the factory after being sent in to be "corrected", is that I do believe this guy would grab this G21 (assuming he didn't have a "proven" pampered Glock to pick) over any of the competition, including 1911s.

He is extreme and sinful in his treatment of the pistol and he is likely to never get into a situation that comes close to even one of his tests while carrying for self defense, but he KNOWS to his core that THIS pistol will work come hell or high water...and that is almost  literally from his tests...  and he just cannot be as sure about any other pistol out there.

P.S.  I have 4 Glocks...which puts me only slightly in BillT's shadow...and that is a position with which I can feel good.

I have a Glock 17  Gen 1... was just impressed with the pistol when I first started seeing it's reviews.  Had to  have one even though it was 9mm and I was a firm believer in .45 ACP.

Next came a Glock 21 as soon as they became available.  Very nice, but the grip was as large as I could possibly handle.

Then a Glock 23.  Grip was smaller, it is small enough for 99% of my concealment needs and the .40 S&W gives up little to the .45ACP as a SD round. (Ruger LCP works in the 1% the G23 does not)

Last is a Glock 21SF.   Ahhhhh...a G21 grip that fits better and a nice 13 round load of .45ACP.

The first G21 ended up donating it's frame to a Mech-Tech carbine.

I've replaced all the Glocks the  Trigger Mechanism Housing with one from Lone Wolf that allows trigger over travel to be adjusted.

I've stoned all the bearing surfaces involved in the trigger pull (a procedure performed and described here by Badgersmilk), and am able to set up a 2.5# target trigger pull up to a 5# SD trigger pull in maybe 5 minutes by replacing the Connector and/or Trigger Spring.

The trigger pull is smooth and even and after "slack" takeup, is comparable to a 1911s...just a wee bit longer.
