I will definitely go get one of these at O'Reilly's..... it looks like it is just the ticket.

Also, was it in the lubricant section? The online parts finder says it is an in-store stock item, but none of the employees at our local store can ever find what I need ...... and I always end up having to find it for them.

No. It was on a J-Hook with a lot of other do dads, several isles from the oils and greases. If you go, print out a copy of it from their website. That way you'll have all of the information on it, so they can find it on their computer and know where it is, along with how many they've got in stock at that particular store. I hate to treat people like they're stupid, but with some of these minimum wage employees at these kind of places, you really have to overload them with information to find what you are looking for.

They love me at my regular parts place (locally owned).......
I just walk in with a pick-list of part numbers and hand it over. It saves them a step and gets me done faster..... they are good guys, so I don't mind. I tried that at a couple of the chain stores (to save time on standard maint parts) like O'Reilly's and AutoZone and I got blank stares.

I expect it will come in the disease form, though. I'm susceptible to diseases, and you can't shoot a damned disease." ~ Judge Roy Bean, Streets of Laredo

For the Patriots of this country, the Constitution is second only to the Bible for most. For those who love this country, but do not share my personal beliefs, it is their Bible. To them nothing comes before the Constitution of these United States of America. For this we are all labeled potential terrorists. ~ Dean Garrison

I went into the local mower place here a few months ago with a sketch of a bushing I needed to adapt the blade I'd bought.  My BIL had misplaced it some time back.  The peach fuzzed kid looked at me kinda funny and hollered for some help.  This little old curmudgeon came out of the back, looked at my sketch, turned around and grabbed a part off the shelf, took my 10 bucks and left!

The kid just stood there...

Old conversation but I have to ask..
Have any of you ever tried this stuff?
It even comes in the type of applicator you're looking for..
http://www.gunbutter.com/
I swear by the stuff. Works hot or cold and doesn't attract dust..
And a little goes a long way..

For a moment I had that confused with bore butter which is compeletly different.
""It may be laid down as a primary position, and the basis of our system, that every Citizen who enjoys the protection of a free Government, owes not only a proportion of his property, but even his personal services to the defence of it, and consequently that the Citizens of America (with a few legal and official exceptions) from 18 to 50 Years of Age should be borne on the Militia Rolls, provided with uniform Arms, and so far accustomed to the use of them, that the Total strength of the Country might be called forth at a Short Notice on any very interesting Emergency." - George Washington. I tend to stay away from any lubricant that has the word GUN on it, for the same reason I do anything that has TACTICAL on it. It's the same as most everything else like it, it just costs more.
