Ruger Gunsite Scout - what height QR rings?
« on: August 30, 2012, 08:17:00 PM »
I'm about to spring for a Burris Scout 'scope and I'd like to have some QR rings (Leupold?) to nail it to the rail - what height do I need?

TIA,   MP
Best Wishes, Mike.

Get the high ones, if their to much you can build up the stock comb.

I'd agree with Tom on high rings. The scout rifle is supposed to be all about quick target aquistion along with light weight. A more heads up position seems to make sense.

As much as I like, admire and support Larry Potterfield, this is where the local gun shop shines.  Take your rifle with you to the shop and pick and choose the ones that work.  Any shop worthy of your business will work with you on this until you have the set up you need.

The other option is to sit down at your computer and start ordering parts.  However, be prepared to start building a drawer of rings and rails that rivals you "box-o-holsters."
If I appear taller than other men it is because I am standing on the shoulders of others.

yeah - I have a few sets of pretty obscure rings, I'll list them sometime - see if you kids can use 'em.

Leupold low!

You speak as if from experience SG, thanks. Does not the ghost ring get in the way of the 'scope ?
