Just listened to the show about your visitor. Did you actually call the police? I would have and have done so in the past. We have the same rule at our house, never open the door. We actually had someone ring the door bell and leave when our two large dogs started barking. I looked out the window and saw a young man walking way. He was far from the front door so, I stepped out and asked what he was were doing there. He said he realized he had the wrong address. As soon as I had dialed and put the phone to my ear he jumped in the car and floored it and tore out of there. It turned out the car had been reported stolen the night before. They didn't not catch him but, recovered the car later in another town.
