I debated bringing this here, and then I debated where to put it.  I decided yes, I need to bring it here; and it should go in the RKBA section, because it is about control and shows how easy Pres. BHO and the First Lady to take our rights away and manipulate our lives.

Our local paper, I wish I could send you a link but the story wasn't online, psoted the issues with the new federal guidelines that dictate what students can received in their school lunches.  No more than 500 calories and limits on carbs and fats.  We are talking healthy teenagers that participate in sports as a part of their school day.  We are talking growing, more than just girth, at the age where permanent damage or benefit can be done through not only content, but also amount of diet.

Who is the First Lady to dictate that growing and active youth in out public schools can only receive X of anything in their diet?  If they are so concerned about health, why don't they start with the candy and soda machines the kids waste the money they supposedly don't have on, and that lead to the health problems that they address with stupid 500 calorie limits.  Why don't they focus on allowing the schools teach the basic skills of math, reading, writing, science, history, and health and physical eduction? 


All of this introduction leads to my concern that they did not even need an executive order to get this done.  Arnold was displaced by the current administration and replaced by the First Lady.  Rather than emphasize activity and exercise, Michelle focuses on eating habits and has the nerve to reprimand Gaby Douglas for eating a high calorie meal in celebration.

What would happen if the same type of quiet pressure were applied to agencies that can quickly and easily start enforcing rules and laws to the 100% level of THEIR interpretation?  By the time it was realized there was a trend it would be so far down the line that we would have a hard time stopping and reversing.  Remember when OSHA under Pres. GW Bush was able to virtually stop all ammunition and reloading supplies shipping and warehousing?  With this administration either in retaliation mode or victory mode we have no idea how bad it could get.  What are Sec. Clinton or Mrs. Pelosi going to do in either case with or without the President's blessing?

Just because she said “For the first time in my adult lifetime, I'm really proud of my country" in Feb of 2008 doesn't mean she didn't always love us whiteys.

With an ass that wide she's a hell of a one to be talking.
There are 2 aspects to this.
First, neither Arnold or Bubble butt are correct, combined, they both are, most on here understand that eating healthier foods in smaller portions must be combined with exercise to maintain decent health.
(I know a guy who weighs 400 pounds and can't understand why, he sits in front of his TV eating a bucket of KFC and says," but it was diet soda", the 32 oz size  )
The second factor is kind of the opposite, who the hell gave the Gov the right to tell me I can't be a lard ass if that is what I choose ?
If they were not trying to take over medical care to gain more control over the populatiion it would be none of their damned business.

But only in the US, Australia and UK are these stats collected by health care officials and have some semblance of objectivity.  In all other cases the stats represent "self reporting" by the individuals ... as in "Do you think you're obese?"  H-m-m-m wonder if that makes their stats very reliable?  Perhaps skews them lower than if the data were collected by a 3rd party actually doing BMI measurements, maybe?

Oh, I'm not denying it either.
Not with the 15 year old (or younger, much younger)  porkers I see waddling around every day.
I'm just saying that it is more prevalent here because we can and they can't.
The reporting thing undoubtedly makes a difference as well.
I know it does in child mortality.
I read that our rate is inflated because Dr's count every fetus that does not survive, while most, especially 3rd world countries on count born children who do not reach 6 months.
