What's the general feeling on Kapersky Internet Security?
I got a 30 day free trial with the new laptop.
My thoughts on Kapersky is that they are good at what they do..... so good THEY were the ones to tell the iraninas WHAT virus and WHO put it therein their nuke program - and then assisted them in removing the viruses to get them u p and running again
(Article about it was in Maximum PC a few moths ago)
So while they are good at doing what they do... ultimately they are a russian company and are looking out for themselves.
I'll always pass on them from now on.
I was an eSet NOD32 fanatic for the longest time but they are from Belorussia and have slipped in the" who to go to for antivirus software" recently (again Maximum PC - and there's the russian connection again.... so there out too)
I've settled back in to AVG (free version) and it gets high marks from (say it with me now) Maximum PC - Somewhere I have a link to a very good - non-profit review site that will take me a day or two to find - but at one time I put a lot of stock in to what they said.
AVAST ranks a 7 of 10 and AVG 8 of 10 in the most recent...(here we go agaiiiiinnnnn) Maximum PC review.
You'll find that Norton has gone through a H U G E overhaul in the last year and now is NO LONGER bloatware and handles it self very well - for a paid package.
I run the WebRoot software suite for everything BUT antivirus and LOVE them to pieces and they receive the 9+ Kick Ass award as one of the BEST antivirus suites.
