In search of...

A nice single stack, with smooth and light trigger for Missus FBG.  She has arthritis and the DAO single stacks just don't cut it.  She has handled several, she likes the weight and size of the S&W Airweight.  I would like for her to have more than five available.  The Ruger P-85 is just too big for her to carry , especially to church.  (The church she likes is in a not so good part of town.)

She does like the grip on my Gov't, but .45acp is a bit much for her.  A Commander or clone in 9mm might be doable, maybe even a compact.  Gotta get her comfortable with carrying in condition one.

I handled a Bersa .380 that would make a nice pocket pistol for me.  Nice heft, and the action felt solid.  Haven't really heard much about that brand though.

I've had a Bersa Thunder for about 6 months now. No hiccups yet after about 500rds.

Maybe a Browning Hi-power? Its a classic for a reason. Light, smooth and hi-cap at 14 rounds, plus its slimmer than a 1911 and conceals better, but thats .45 vs 9mm so its a tradeoff. Pretty much a 1911 in all regards except for a magazine disconnect safety (the same guy designed both), and I've put a shat load of 9mm though it and never had an issue. They ain't cheap, but that cuts both ways, they ain't cheap ;). Mine's 40 years old and runs like a Swiss watch.
Good luck

Have her try the S&W Shield. I was very impressed with its trigger and lack of recoil and its 10+1 of 9mm. I carry a Glock 19 but this will be my new backup or  coat pocket gun. Good Luck.

How about a Sig P238?  Small, single stack, single action in .380 acp.  Kind of a mini 1911.  That or a Colt Mustang.

Double action, Hi capacity, fairly light recoil, and not that expensive.

That looks very promising indeed, thank you!

I think I'm gonna have one hand picked for me for a pocket/mexican carry pistol.  A couple spare mags too.

Don't pull a Plaxico FBG! Holsters are wonderful things, even for pocket carry. The $20 you spend on a Nemisis pocket holster or a Don Hume IWB off EBAY is money wisely invested, unless you want to end up on youtube. ;D

There are the "Uncle Mike's" clip on IWB's or you can get or make a belt clip that anchors under the grip panel.
