Saw this on GMA this morning!

Found an unknown life insurance file for my deceased mother.  Don't know if it's big or small but it certainly can't hurt to make the claim and find out.  One family claimed nearly 65K from their parents estate!

Check for yourselves!

This file is from Prudential.  It's probably nothing to speak of monetarily but some years after mom passed, we all (5 siblings) received a check for 650 bucks from some obscure policy the folks had.  Ya never know, it could be something she never claimed after my dad died in 1989!

It's worth a stamp for me rather than let it sit in the Michigan State treasury for the rest of eternity!  My brothers and I will probably just let my sister have all of it anyway!  She's retired and could use the help.

My mom had some stock that dad never bothered to claim. Fortunately FL holds unclaimed asserts indefinitely. Took a couple of months, but finally got it cleared up.
Will work for ammo

Apparently Michigan holds things indefinitely as well.  My mother passed in 1998 and dad in 1989!  It may depend on the type of asset as well.  Talked to my brothers to get a death cert for the filing.  My oldest Bro said he'd tried to get something cleared a few years ago but never finalized the thing.  It was either 1500 bucks or 15K.  He couldn't recall but then, he's not too concerned about such a small figure anyway....   ::)

I'll let y'all know what I find...

Oregon makes it more difficult.  You have to register and sign in to check, too lazy today maybe tomorrow...

Use the link from Minnesota, it's set to check the entire country if you change the search criteria!
