Maybe you shouldn't laugh Tyler, how big is a cell phone and that can send video.
How much of that microcircuit sh!t could you hide in something the size of a TV .


The laughable part is that they would use the plasma screen itself as the lens...much more efficient designs available that would work find  hidden inside.

With power to the unit, they might do anything they want...and you will be paying the electric bill.  If power is cut off...not just turning the device off, but cutting power to the cord, it would be more difficult.

Cell phone battery would not last long transmitting continuous sound and video....but then they would not be limited to a cell phone sized battery in a TV enclosure....and it would still recharge on  your meter. 

If you suspect the Cable Co. is in on the conspiracy, you better cut power to their boxes too....good bye DVR.

Another thought just struck me, the little "eye" that picks up the beam from the remote could easily be a digital camera lens, compare it to the size of the lens on your cell phone.
I don't know if they actually do this stuff, but the tech is there.

Just heard that one of the alphabet agencies has developed an app that will turn-on the video/camera functions on anyone's phone.  By using the digital information they receive, they can reconstruct 360 degree views of crime scenes, or the interior of someone's home, or just about anything else they may want.

It may be too late for tinfoil hats.  And the darned lead suit thing is just too heavy for daily wear.

I read something along those lines but I'm sure there will be some entrepeneur that will come along with an ap that can keep them out or at least keep the camera and mic off.  Its hard to make something, easy to stop something and even easier to break something  ;D

I can see it now some Alphabet soup agency tries to turn on someone "target's" camera and inadvertently release a virus into their own system  ;)

Yes, they can Magoo. So, if you don't use the camera on your cell phone, duct tape the lens. The government would have a hard time taking the tape off when it is in your pocket. And, if they try, you have grounds under the 4th Amendment re search and seizure and under local laws re groping. Any cell phone have lens caps? 'Bout time they do (suggest that to Apple).

They already have aluminum wallets to protect you credit cards from RFID readers .
Next step is an aluminum cell phone case.
The only problem is that if it prevents unauthorized outside access it will also block all incoming calls.
