Former Cincinnati Bengals cheerleader pleads guilty in sex case involving student

COVINGTON, Ky. — A former cheerleader for the Cincinnati Bengals pleaded guilty Monday to having sex with a 17-year-old student while she was a teacher at northern Kentucky high school, a move that will allow her to avoid time in jail.
“I began a romantic relationship while he was a student and I was in a position of authority,” Jones said, her voice cracking as her family members wiped their own tears.

Jones said the relationship began in February 2011 when the boy was 17, saying that the two had sex, that she sent him sexually explicit text messages and lied about the relationship to police.
Prosecutors said they were willing to make the deal because the teen, now 18, and his family were uncooperative with them and on Jones’ side.
“We feel that it is a just and it is a fair result,” prosecutor Sara Farmer said. “It’s certainly difficult when a victim and his family don’t cooperate by not providing information but it makes our case a lot harder when they’re actually proactive for a defendant, and in this case, the family was more than supportive of the Jones. They were proactive for them.

Somehow I would have survived the horror of banging a NFL dancer/cheerleader just 'cause I'm willing to "take one for the team".

hey if you can be responsible enough to drive a car at 16 or own a firearm then I say you have a fair idea how to make it with a  cheerleader of any age.

Technically sledge in most places you can't own a firearm until you're 18. Never mind that I had 3 by the time I turned 18.

And the nice english teacher was "in a position of authority". Free swings at that one...

You mean you wouldn't have gone running to the cops if the hot cheerleader teacher had totally violated you, over, and over, and over again? She might have abused her position of authority (or any number of other positions)! Hell, there might have been a riding crop involved. The horror!

Double standard is true.
Teachers like this are a fantasy, on the other hand people are glad that Jerry Sandusky will be getting what he was giving along with frequent beatings.
It may not be fair, but that's life.
