Before it gets too heated in here....

Keep your skin thick, and your remarks civil, please.  I'm certain that there is no personal animosity intended in my remarks, and I hope there is none in others.

As a matter of fact Solus, I DO walk to the polls, rain or shine, hot or cold.

Figured you did =)

I walked to mine for 20 years when they had it in the neighborhoods I lived in.

When they consolidated the polling places several miles away and ended up with 2hr lines, I found a workable alternative.

If you can't get to the polls for a valid reason (and deer huntin' ain't one of them)

Thankfully, I don't need anyones justification to fill out my ballot today that came in the mail yesterday.

Would you feel better if I had said that I have been planning a 4000 mile round trip drive for 2 years to be with family and to help support paralyzed/wounded veterans?
That's exactly what I'm going out of town for. The deer hunt is to be with family and to help fill their freezer for the coming year.
The pheasant hunt is so wheelchair bound vets can get to shoot at birds they would otherwise only see on TV. To see a vet in a wheelchair with no legs and only one arm shoot at a bird I kicked up for him is going to be worth a lot more than what I'm going to pay in gas to get there.

You can say lots of bad things about pedophiles; but at least they drive slowly past schools.

The one time I got an absentee ballot I had to stand in a long line to get it, but when I vote on election day it seems there's never more than one person ahead of me. It's much faster for me to just go to the polls.

Good luck on the cataracts operation FBG.
