Blazer .22 ammo and a Sig Mosquito?

Yes,  My Mosquito is a jammer also.  Tried several different brands of hi-speed and std vel ammo.  Changed the springs, used hi-speed with std vel spring and vice-versa; even cut a coil or two off one of the springs.....no help.  Jams at least once per mag.   Am about to clean it up (again!) and send back to SIG as it's been in the safe about 1 1/2 yrs now and not fired since I put it away.  Ive been shooting about 40 or so years now and I'm amazed at how such a thing could get out of the SIG factory.  I used to have an FFL and sold a good number of SIG centerfires.  Never had a complaint about any of them....they oughta stick to what they do best.  I wonder how their "black rifles" work.  Since they're centerfire; I bet just fine.

The Mosquitos are just problematic, it's kind of a shame.  I've found that they have way too much over cock and the ammo needsto be oiled to make them work well enough.

The black rifles are great.  I have a 556 that I literally dragged under my quad(by accident) while on a camping trip, it got all tore up, but it still shot perfectly out to the 300 yds I was shooting it to.

Don't know what it is, the larger caliber handguns are top-shelf, I have a 556, that is top notch also. Can't they be sent to a gun guru, and made right?

DDMac had one that worked for a while then went tits up.  Mine SEEMS to be working itself into being fairly reliable.  Of course this is after a trip back to SIG and another 1,000 rounds.  Big thing is like an AR it runs WET best.

Yes, there was one.  I worked it over about 3 years ago for a friend and it ran great for a few thousand rounds.  She ended up putting it away after I used it to shoot the Rim Fire Challenge a in '07.

The problem is that the Mosquito needs so much work to be made to run "ok" that it's really not worth it.

I will take this as a veiled attempt to provoke me to posting my incredible Sig Mosquito experience...  Oh darn, you did!

All I know is I got a real cheap used Mosquito and read the directions where it states it was tested using CCI mini mags and will function the best with them and I have never looked back except to see if I could hit someone standing behind me with spent brass.  Please feel free to send all unwanted Mosquitos to Brosometal C/O...

My Mosquito seems to work best with CCI Mini Mags.  I've tried every kind of ammo I can find through it, and no matter what, the pistol does not perform reliably.  The original gun I got was so bad, when I sent it back, Sig kept it and sent me a new one.  Same problems, just not so frequently.  The pistols have to be cleaned frequently and require a lot of oil.  There is an oil hole on the side of the slide for the extractor which also requires a lot of oil. 

Mine is pretty much a safe queen.  Not reliable, therefore not fun to shoot.  Trading stock.
