House Dem admits to 'drawing a blank' on Second Amendment
By Pete Kasperowicz - 10/25/12 11:40 AM ET

Rep. Rubén Hinojosa (D-Texas) on Wednesday forgot what the Second Amendment was when asked about it during a debate in McAllen, Texas.

"I'm drawing a blank on the Second Amendment, but I think it's the weapons, isn't it? The NRA?" he said, according to The Monitor.

After recalling what the Second Amendment is — the right to keep and bear arms — he then went on to say he supports efforts to put limits on it, by blocking access to certain guns.

"Why in the hell do we have to have machine guns? And don't touch that, because NRA will come and put you on the black list," he said. "Well, I didn't go up there to be Mr. Popular. I went up there to do the right thing. To help our community. To protect them."

The Monitor quoted Hinojosa's opponent, Republican Dale Brueggemann, as saying he was "a little surprised" that Hinojosa didn't know what the Second Amendment was right away. Hinojosa said he was thrown off by a quick change in topics during the debate.

One member of the audience was quoted as saying it was "scary" when Hinojosa had trouble remembering the Second Amendment. The amendment reads, "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."

At the risk of over using this.. It just fits..

In MI we have a D with a higher grade from the nra running against a R with a lower grade. Vote the man or vote the issue, it's the same thing.
""It may be laid down as a primary position, and the basis of our system, that every Citizen who enjoys the protection of a free Government, owes not only a proportion of his property, but even his personal services to the defence of it, and consequently that the Citizens of America (with a few legal and official exceptions) from 18 to 50 Years of Age should be borne on the Militia Rolls, provided with uniform Arms, and so far accustomed to the use of them, that the Total strength of the Country might be called forth at a Short Notice on any very interesting Emergency." - George Washington. In that case vote D, if the GOP guy is anti-gun. We need good pro-2A people in both parties. If we let the 2A become partisan we're screwed, as at some point we'll see a repeat of 2008.

More proof that not everyone should vote.  Only responsible adults.

We'd all be better off.
Necessity is the plea for every infringement of human freedom.
It is the argument of tyrants; it is the creed of slaves.
