FQ, need good references to the lies he told.  Should be other than the Dem's campaign ads.

I agree that is would not be a Good Thing for an outsider to move in and take the turf of an equally good and incumbent candidate.

Though the other candidate would have to be very good to compete with West.  Who was it?

The lies were in his adds, saying the Dem had voted for all the scary stuff BO has supposedly, or actually done. Cutting medicare etc. The guy never held elective office, he couldn't have voted for that stuff if he wanted to.

As to the GOP candidate it was Martin County Sherrif Robert Crowder, a good guy who's served his district in various capacities for thirty years. He just got drowned by West's money and ability to get not just local, but national media attention, which isn't something a local primary contender can compete with. As I said, it was like running against Hillary in the NY senatorial primary. Good luck. The funny thing is, the guy would have won as he was a perfect fit for the district. The Dem didn't get get people voting for him as much as he got people voting against West. Crowder wouldn't have had that problem. The only good news in this is the Dem had to run to the right to win, and knows that if he wants to keep his seat he'll need to keep those GOP votes and the only way to do that is to be very attentive to local issues and distance himself from Pelosi. Hopefully he'll do that.

FQ, sorry if it seems I'm holding your feet to the fire on this, but I've had a lot of respect for West and want to be sure of the truth before I re-evaluate my thoughts on him.

The particular point isl lying in the ads.  It will come down to the words used.   For example you said West ads stated Murphy voted for all the scary Obama stuff.  Could the ads instead have said that Murphy supported that stuff?  That can be done without holding office and Murphy's web site does show support for at least Obamacare.

FQ, you live in your district and have the right to choose your own representative. Suggest you not move to MD's 8th District where my right to select a Republican was removed through gerrymandering into a Democrat controlled district. In fact, the Republican who remained in my old 6th District also lost due to the same gerrymandering. Further, I'd prefer you stay where you are for my peace of mind. Someone once said you have to think beyond your own back yard. Honesty in politics...really?

Thing is, this is a gerrymandered GOP district. Here's what happened. About 20 years back the GOP and the NAACP made a deal with the devil. The idea was to create Minority Majority districts to give blacks more representation in Congress. The GOP loved this, as as a side effect, it broke competative mixed race districts and created lilly white ones who were likely to vote GOP right along side mostly black ones who would always go DEm. Demoghraphics being what they are the GOP got a net gain, but the blacks didn't care as this was about affirmative action and getting black faces in Congress. The real losers were white conservatives who got stuck in the Dem districts and have no chance in hell of getting their voices heard.
Its why in this case I don't worry about a Dem getting the nod. His vote is meaningles in the current House and unless he proves himself a rockstar any half decent LOCAL Republican will win the next election. And yeah, a vote for the House should be about local concerns being represented on the Hill. Things like immigration, education, flood control, trade with the Carribean, FEMA, Everglades restoration, fisheries policies and all the stuff that guys like you who just look at the "big picture" overlook, but that matter a hell of a lot to people's lives and livliehoods here at home. And since the feds, for good or ill, are hip deep in this stuff, damn straight I want my rep to be accutely aware of these concerns as a result of actually living here, rather than just being visiting nobility.

FQ hates Palin, hates Ann Coulter, hates Rush, hates West.....
Just one question FQ, you say West screwed "As to the GOP candidate it was Martin County Sherrif Robert Crowder, a good guy who's served his district in various capacities for thirty years."

But in the line just before that, (and in all your other posts) you claim he never held elective office .
I know up here Sheriff is an elective office.
Another thing you got wrong was saying West only wanted a recount of the counties where he lost.
Now you're the liar, West has been in court for a total recount, it was the judge who decided on the partial recount.

http://www.newsmax.com/Newsfront/allen-west-loses-recount/2012/11/12/id/463744?s=al&promo_code=10AEC-1

The state ordered county elections officials to recount ballots from machines which had memory card problems on election day, according to St. Lucie County Assistant Attorney Heather Young.

Last Wednesday, less than 24 hours after polls closed, the campaign filed for ballots and voting machines to be held untouched as they filed legal motions to force a full recount. Edson wanted all early voting ballots to be recounted, however the county only reviewed ballots from three of the eight days that votes were cast before election day.

The fact that your "facts" aren't so factual doesn't surprise me.
You keep saying West lied in his ads ?
Lets have some specifics and see how you screwed that up too.

Uhh, Dude, Crowder was the GOP candidate West beat in primary. The Democrat was the one who never held office.Try reading before venting.  As for the recounts, you are again wrong. Recounts are done by county. He wants one in Palm Beach and one in St. Lucie. He has not requested one in Martin County. The issue of total or partial was whether absentee and some other allegedly problematic early  ballots would be recounted or all ballots would be recounted, but only in those two counties. Get your facts straight.

And for the record, I don't hate Rush, he amuses me. I've listened to him for years, hell, I even watched his TV show when he had one. I don't even hate Palin, I just don't think she was fit to be a heartbeat away from the presidency (though the same could be said for Biden). Coulter, yeah, on that one I plead guilty, she is a nasty harpy.

FQ, I recall when he made the decision to move to that district. After he was redrawn, he would have been in a primary with a guy that he knew would win the seat, and wanted to go where he could win a seat for the GOP. In summary, that was what he said.
I also watched one debate between West and the other guy where he was accused of exactly what you are accusing him of. He refuted the claims and the moderator, who was calling balls and strikes. called it a clean hit. The Dem was playing Victim/Drama Queen, apparently hoping that somebody would feel sorry for the guy, (and he did get pretty pitiful at that point in the debate). Nobody bought it. He admitted it/stood corrected.. I think you might be consuming too much of your own product!

Oh, and by the way, I lived in Florida from 79 to 92. Your carrying on about carpetbaggers is more than a little amusing. You do know the difference between Yankees and Damn Yankees, don't you ??? ? I lived a number of years in Pasco County (and Pinellas, and Hillsborough) and the ONLY person I ever met in that time with a southern accent was a Sheriff Dept. Investigator, (and he wasn't happy with me).. I met three other folks "actually from Florida" when I was working at the Marriott in the Airport in Tampa. Till I moved to Alachua, then Levy Counties, I was the only southerner I knew down there, with the exception of one kid in school who was also from Alabama.. Please.. "Will the last person out of Michigan please turn out the light?" How many US Representatives do you have from Florida, who aren't "from Florida? A bunch of em.. I'm not buying the "You ain't frum here" bit.. Alabama, Maine, sure, but not Florida!!!

I thought Coulter was entertaining till a couple of years ago when she, and apparently Peggy Noonan got the same bad batch of Kool-Aid, and they both turned idiot.. I understand that Coulter is your neighbor too.. Better you than me..  ;) Don't you feel better about your District, now??
With friends like these, who needs hallucinations!..
