Corp registry vs personal registry of suppressors
« on: November 16, 2012, 09:05:51 AM »
I have two suppressors ordered, one for rifle, one for handgun.  Waiting on them to come in to register SN & send for tax stamp.  I've received mixed advice about how best to complete purchase.  Our local Sheriff is reported to be OK with sign-off.  I also have a long standing S-Corp where I could register them without local LE sign-off.  A local Judge is in my Sunday School class and would probably be another source. There was some confusing info received from a dealer other than the one I'm dealing with about S-Corp vs C-Corp.  At least while I'm alive, I plan to have the Corps until toes up.

The dealer I'm getting the suppressors from recommended the personal owned trust thing over Corp ownership.

Is there a practical reason for one method over the other?

Here's an old thread that should help.
