A good cast iron skillet is a wedding gift idea I got from an older couple a while back.  It seems the woman was from an abusive past and used her's to "even the odds" on the way out the door.  ;)

But good quality cast iron is always going to be there if taken care of even if its never needed for self-defense.

Plus they get better with age if properly seasoned and treated. I have three that I inherited from my grand mother (two mini-pans that are perferct for two eggs) and a large one. They are as slippery as tephlon, and you can put them in the oven. The non-stick pans are great, but only last a few years till they get scratched and you need to replace it. The old cast iron just gets better by the year. Gee, might there be a lesson here? ;)

Mrs. T and I traditionally give a nice, tasteful 8X10 inch photo frame for the happy couple's official wedding picture. No points for creativity, but seldom do they get more than one.

Wome that work and are independant= hot.  Its always been that way for me.     I hate women that need every thing done for them.   not that I mind doing that, I just don't think it should be demaned/ expected.
