I picked up one of these after seeing and using one that a guy at our club had installed on his AR-15. It is by far the best made product of this type I have come across. They're not cheap, but the GPS-02 Military Version is about as well constructed as you can get.

This model has Stainless Steel reinforced Bi-Pod legs that spring out and deploy with the touch of a button. It also has a steel reinforced screw and nut assembly that holds the unit on the forend. It can be mounted to any forend that accepts Picatinny Rail attachments. Once deployed the Bi-Pod offers a nice steady shooting platform.

A few years back I made the mistake of purchasing one of those cheap, Chinese knockoffs of this product. After a couple of outings at the range I had one of the legs crack completely off. It was the type where the entire grip itself split in two seperate parts to form the Bi-Pod part of the unit. Luckily I was still holding the weapon when it decided to let go. Otherwise the rifle could have easily fallen off the bench. Midway has these, but Howie over at United Nations Ammo has them almost a third cheaper for the exact same unit. They are a bit hard for him to come by at that price, ($100.00), but worth it.

I recently picked up a grip pod (GPS-02) on ebay.  It was used and I picked it up for about $35 plus shipping.  It was used but still in good udable shape.
