The problem I see with the poll, excuse me, question, (it says at the bottom it is not a public opinion poll, well then what the hell else could it be?) is that the results will never see the light of day unless it goes the anti's way.  It's 2/3rd against at the moment.  If it stays thta way then the MSM will plaster it everywhere, if it switches then no one outside NPR will ever hear about it.

Whenever I feel like I'm getting a little too smart and need to make myself a little stupider, I just go to the comments section on just about any article online.  The stupidity and ignorance is overwhelming.

Teachers should NOT be allowed to carry in school. The very nature of a teacher is a detriment to the action which may be called for in an active shooter case.
There are plenty of qualified people such as retired police and veterans that would be glad to post up at a school, probably for free a few hours a day.

One of the folks largely responsible for my love of firearms was a college professor.....who owned more guns than most gun stores have in stock and never let his ammo reserve fall under 10,000 rounds.

Not all teachers are irresponsible, liberal, anti-gun dolts.  JMHO, FWIW.

Huh?

The principle died trying to stop the gunman from killing kids.  Unarmed she was severely limited in her effectiveness.  It is the very nature of a teacher to protect the children in their care....it should be the very nature of every adult to protect the children anywhere.

For sure it should not be in the teachers very nature to have to die futilely trying to protect them.

That's crap, the 2 primary things needed are to be there, and to have the means of defense.
I had a Math teacher who received the Medal of Honor , you going to say he's not qualified ?

A few teachers I know are veterans or former LEO, so you are saying that their position makes them unqualified to carry a firearm?

It has been stated a few times here at DRTV if a teacher can't carry a firearm should they be a teacher?
