We don't need troops to guard our schools.  We have plenty of people on staff willing to continue their daily practices while at work if we just let them, and nobody will know which ones they are.

Correct.  If enough teachers get qualified, there could be a armed presence in every classroom.

With over 98,000 public schools plus any private schools, here will be a LOT of guardsmen on school duty for the few shooting attempts each year.

But then, it is a way to spend money.

The principal had the guts to give her life to protect her kids shows me that the answer, IMHO, should be a qualified YES.  Let's be realistic...not every teacher/staff member is/would be willing to do that.  To them, I say fine!  To the others, I say great, go for it!!!!!  Also, turning "Gun Free Zones" into "May Carry" zones adds to the deterent factor.
