Not sure I follow your logic JPR. The three examples are federal property. State prohibitions would not apply.  ???
Mac.
State prohibitions do apply MAC , unless the state allows carry in state parks you cannot carry in national parks.       * * * * *
    (e) Persons may possess, carry, and transport concealed, loaded,
and operable firearms within a national wildlife refuge in the same
manner, and to the same extent, that a person may lawfully possess,
carry, and transport concealed, loaded and operable firearms in any
state wildlife refuge, or any similar unit of state land, in the state
in which the national wildlife refuge, or that portion thereof, is
located, provided that such possession, carrying and transporting
otherwise complies with applicable federal and state law.

Well, I am glad to see the Nat Parks and USDA come around to the idea of CCW in the parks...

I am old enough to remember when fish cops in Idaho were unarmed. (it good to be old, I guess)

Then one day two of the good old boy fish cops were shot down cold in poacher's camp.
They took three guns from the poacher, then tried to arrest him. Guess what?
He had one more gun, a .22 pistol, he used to kill both unarmed officers.
He left one of them for dead in a cold stream.

Right after that, folks woke up! And now fish cops everywhere carry all kinds of guns, radios, computer, and have lots of training to use them too...

Know why?

Because Nat Parks and Nat. Forests are, full of bad guys. That hideout in Nat parks and Nat Forests everyday.

Just because they are camping... Does not mean they are nice people like you...

I would just like to carry my pistol in Nat Parks and US Forest service lands. Just in case, a bad guy walk in my camp wanting food or a beer or local information. Then rob me or take my wife or daughter away and leave me in a cold stream to die.

Be nice when you write your letter or check your box. They got the idea already... Trust me! Do not make them mad
In other words wear your tie when you talk to them. Not, your Kill or be Killed tee shirt.

My two worth, only,

Blank

BTW: I was working for USDA at time, unarmed and alone, in a Nat. Forest write tickets and making arrest at the time of those shootings. Any questions?

Apparently, in this case, the Feds wanted to throw us a bone.. but still retain plausable deniability if a camper goes nuts with his kit gun!
Mac.
ps. Blank, a Navy buddy's brother worked in Emmett doing the same thing. He preferred silvaculture and firefighting. You are sure right about what lives in the National Parks. Glad you made it through. Mc.

Hey!

Thanks Mac.

"Apparently, in this case, the Feds wanted to throw us a bone.. but still retain plausable deniability if a camper goes nuts with his kit gun!"

I see, said the blind man ;)

That's understandable... The first thing they told me to do...

Was, to cover my own but, first!

Blank

I have over the years spent lots of quality time it the woods of MS and NC. Ticks! I HATE ticks. Sorry, Indiana. Anyway, the State's argument that there is no need to go armed because it is safe in the parks-forests is clearly dispelled by a brief review of news articles relating to assaults, rapes and robberies that are common in NC. But besides that, there are lots of "agricultural entrepreneurs" who invest lots of time and effort trying to remain undetected. Here, they do not behave well when accidentally disturbed.

While most herb farmers won't take on a drug enforcement team, a casual hiker is a diffrent story. NC is still looking for the male of an elderly couple that was missing a few months age. Lady found murdered. People vanish. That's reason enough for me.

Yep, and I live in an adjoining county from where that elderly couple disappeared. However, in this case, it wasn't drug related or at least not related to growing drugs on NPS or NFS property. The psychopath arrested apparently killled 1-2 women in Georgia in a Nat. Forest there as well as the elderly couple.
