any one have a touch screen laptop?

  I am in the market and wondering if any one has a touch screen laptop.

I bought a new lap top about a month ago, if I had bought the touch screen op. it would have added an extra $100 to the price. I opted to not get it since I already dropped a good chunk of change on it.  The new laptop I got came with windows 8 - not a real fan of it, don't know if that's what you are looking at. There is a learning curve to Win 8 & getting use to it takes a bit, but you might be a computer wizard and like it.

See thats the deal, the one I want no longer comes with windows 7.  Windows 8 is designed for touch screens.  So mights as well get a  touch screen.

notebook screens get grubby enough with out peoples grotty fingers all over them.
Just brought a new laptop the other week, decided to leave windows 8 off it and no touch screen either.
Some things are better left alone.

I'm pretty much over Windows after 20 years of crashes and piss poor operation!

Going Mac next time, no doubt...

Wife's MacBook Air is REALLY light - boots up fast too. (SSD)
She's had it for about 4-5 months now and it's sloooooowwwwww as honey in the winter.

She's thinking about taking it back to factory, out of the box settings.
Good thing is, it's a Mac, which I don't know squat about so I don't have to touch it.  ;D

on edit: Forgot to add that on the fire trucks, all of the MCTs were touch screen. They ended up looking like someone used sandpaper on the spots that are touched the most. They held up but looked like dog barf.

I suspect even a Mac can slow down with the amount of crap running in the background.  Remember, even a smart phone needs a reboot every few days so I'd say that a Mac needs a cold boot up on occasion.

PM PhilW about her issues.  He's a certified Mac expert about these things.

I'm stuck with PC for business purposes, so fruit is not an option.  However, the wife bought a new 'puter last month and opted to not go with Windows 8.  Talking to the tech, he is advising waiting a year for the bugs to surface and be fixed at the pain and suffering of the "gotta have the latest and greatest."  Based on history and info from Microsoft, they will fully support 7 for three years minimum, and longer if 8 bombs.  Vista anybody?
