Thanks, Ksail, I enjoyed that. Never got a gun from my grandfathers (their sons did). My Dad helped me buy my old Marlin 336C 30/30 lever action when I was 15. My son has that now and, like the singer, he knows what sentiment is attached to it. He even replaced the old Weaver scope when it fogged up inside and uses it to hunt on occasion. I know he'll pass it on to his son (when he gets around to having one) or perhaps his daughter! That gun is a symbol of lobo family immortality.

Cool & Thanks! I did get my granddads shotgun, still have it. It's a 16ga. Savage, 3 shot upland. Need to find another forearm for it, I've been looking for yrs. but with no luck. Use to go duck & pheasant hunting with it back in the 60"s.

Too cool, I got my grandpa's 16 gage 870 and his 22 never got a chance to shoot with him though.   But the thing of his I like the most is his Stamley Thermos, I remember it on the senator his truck every time we visited and he came home from work.

     The only gun my GrandFather had was a 12ga shotgun that had a damascus barrel and was missing 1 hammer. My Dad kept it as a rememberance of GrandPop and when Dad died and we were cleaning out for an estate sale I gave it to my 1 nephew. Never knew my GranPops - they  died in the 1930's. From what I heard of them they were hard mem in hard times.

I have two old double barrels that belonged to two of my great great grandfathers. Neither is in a condition that would even make a good fireplace poker......looks like they were used hard and not well cared for..... but they belonged to the men who made it possible for me to be here.

Got my grandpa's old Remington pump .22  It's 90+ years old now and beat to heck.  It was a working farm gun and spent many years riding the tractor and behind the seat of the pickup.  I remember my grandfather commenting that he killed many a hog with it.

My brother got the pump shotgun which apparently had replaced the double barrel my brother remember from his youth.
