I was reading the newspapers while sipping coffee earlier this morning, and there is a common comment:

The task force is moving items forward, and the President plans to get this done quick - within the next week!

I don't care if we are talking gun bans, relaxing gun laws, healthcare, automobile safety, or picking your nose in public, we need to slow down the process!  Whether it is to take advantage of a crisis, correct a wrong, or address a new issue, nothing can be done in haste.  Remember the old saying "Haste makes waste"?  That is true!

Somebody needs to stop the out of control speeding train in Washington D.C., take a deep breath, and let the process work.  This is the reason our Founding Fathers set up a system of Government that would cause division and gridlock.  They knew that a streamlined system would be trouble.

Vice President Joe Biden met at 11 a.m. today in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building "with representatives of victims’ groups and gun safety organizations as part of the Administration’s effort to develop policy proposals in response to the tragedy in Newtown," the Vice president's Schedule page announced today.

"The President and I are determined to take action," a press pool feed, released moments ago and sent to Gun Rights Examiner by the White House Press Office quoted Biden. "I want to make clear that we're not going to get caught up in the notion that, unless we can do everything, were going to do nothing."

"The president IS going to act," the release again quoted the Vice President, who emphasized the White House has determined that "executive action can be taken" without specifying what actions they believe they can enact that bypass Congress.

Stating that the administration intended to cast a wide net, Biden said he would be meeting tomorrow with representatives of gun owners and the National Rifle Association.

If Pres. BHO dictates this he will pay for it!

I guarantee that many groups will move for impeachment for over stepping his bounds and make sure he is removed from office.  Then there are those who will act when he tries to have his dictates implemented.

It is sad that the Nobel Peace Prize winner is driving his own nation of division and the shedding of blood.

You need to care .
The gun issue is the keystone to all the rest . If we have our guns with out Govt infringement, and the courage to use them as intended, those who wish to wreck our nation know we can tell them "NO" and make it stick .
If we allow them to take regulate, or control our means of defense, the Constitutions ultimate check, then we are subject to what ever your betters wish to impose on us, and deserve no better.

It's not likely any current politician would survive and still hold office.
The ones that were not killed or run off by one side would fall to the other .
When the dust finally settled all the familiar names would likely either be dead or in hiding.

You didn't pay attention again!  Time to go back to elementary school and reading comprehension.

It does not matter what the issue is!  Haste makes waste, and rushing issues through based on emotional response is no way to govern.

True, right now it is guns, accessories, and ammunition.  However, it has been healthcare, car safety, motorcycle helmets, cribs, playpens, swimming pools, and a thousand other things.  Why do you think legislation gets passed quickly after an issue, and they attach some persons name to so many issues?

Slow down and do it right!
