I think you're both wrong .
There will be a fairly small, determined  number of "bitter ender's" who will stand for their beliefs and let the consequences be damned , mean while, the sheeple will bleat and do nothing.

I remember back just before or just after BHO's first election, there was talk of a new armed domestic security force.  It seemed to go away, but every so often, something would pop up that either reminded me of it or reinforced it somehow. 

Don't know if anything every came of that plan, but this would be just the time such a force under the direct control of the office of the president to come in very handy.

I'm not saying that anyone is going to take up arms against our military when they come for us.  Everybody I talk to is aware of the military's lack of interest in turning on our own citizens.  However, I have had several people from different groups point out something:  Groups like the Black Panthers.  Our Pres. was a "community organizer," and we have already seen fringe groups acting in intimidating ways without retribution from government.  What if ...
