Was able to stop by my usual Walmart today.  I've gotten to know a couple of the clerks there.  They have told me in the past the approximate time the trucks come in and about what time they get the stuff on the shelf.  My Walmart does not usually have a very big selection or very much in stock in good times.  I talked to the clerk about what I heard at the other Walmart about no further stocking.  The clerk had not heard any thing in that regards.  The clerk said that other customers had asked about the same issue.  Seems that the other customers had heard it several days before from the same other Walmart where I heard it.  The clerk speculated that the story at the other Walmart might only be someone's attempt to cut down on the number of phone calls and customer inquiries which have been overwhelming.

By the way my Walmart got some 9 mm and 7.62 x 39 in last night.  One person bought it all immediately.  They did not get any in today.  :'(  No truck tomorrow.  Maybe Monday.

Posted on FB...... do not have a link, but it does not look photo-shopped........ particularly based on the quality of the sign itself.

Sounds like the gal might have been on to something in the OP. :o

The sales clerk said they did not have any and would not be getting anymore ammo in until the new laws are passed.  She said they were told that by there manager that day.  She said that Obama has ordered Walmart not to ship any more ammo from their warehouse to the stores and that the wholesalers and distributors have been ordered not to ship ammo to Walmart.

I do not know.
I'm thinking it may be a stocking term related to something like leaving it on a palette. A lady I know who works there says their goods are stocked in the storage area in "blocks"......

*As a side note:
I do not know if the sign is legitimate, and hesitated before posting it without a credible link. I was just basing the posting on the appearance of the picture. I am trying to find source materials other than FB. Folks are already arguing about whether it is real or not, so take it with a grain of salt, FWIW.

**EDIT**

Found a link at WND (four hours old) that refutes the rumor of Wal-Mart's stoppage of ammo sales.
I apologize for any confusion.

It's easy to see how these things get started.  When Walmart sales clerks tell their customers the "no more ammo story" that I was told in the first post.  I was not the only person that was told that.  I was told that line at an out of town Walmart that is about 25-30 miles away from my local Walmart.

A day or two later I was able to get to my local Walmart.  I was able to purchase some ammo, though there was little in stock.  They had gotten in just a little the night before.  I asked the clerk about the "no more ammo" story I heard at the out of town Walmart.  The local clerk stated that they had not been told that at their store, but they had heard it from other customers.  The other customers had also been told that by the same out of town Walmart where I heard it.

To try to get to the truth of the story I emailed Walmart through Walmart.com customer service which was probably the incorrect method to try to communicate my concern or questions.  They way in which I did it was one in which you need to select a specific store in regard to your questions and I inadvertently clicked on a third Walmart store that is also out of town.

The next day I received a call from the third store in regards to my concerns, and that clerk also said they were unaware of any "no more ammo" company policies.

Earlier Monday I saw the "news" story about "no more ammo" so I tried calling corporate Walmart about the matter to either find out if it was true and express my displeasure or to alert them to the "no more ammo" story so they could respond.  I was transferred several times and was initially was refereed to this press release:

http://news.walmart.com/news-archive/2013/01/09/walmart-statement-on-white-house-meeting-to-discuss-firearms

Walmart Statement on White House Meeting to Discuss Firearms

Jan. 9, 2013 - "Walmart, like the rest of the country, has been engaged in a national dialogue about the responsible sale and regulation of firearms.

"We have had ongoing conversations with the Administration, Congress, Mayor Bloomberg’s office, sportsmen groups, suppliers and others to listen and share our thoughts and experiences.

"Over the years we have been very purposeful about striking the right balance between serving hunters and sportsmen and ensuring that we sell firearms responsibly. In fact, we became a charter member of Mayor Bloomberg’s coalition against illegal guns and adopted the 10-point code established by the Responsible Firearms Retailer Partnership that goes beyond what the law requires.

"Knowing our senior leaders could not be in Washington this week, we spoke in advance with the Vice President’s office to share our perspective. We underestimated the expectation to attend the meeting on Thursday in person, so we are sending an appropriate representative to participate.

"We take this issue very seriously and are committed to staying engaged in this discussion as the Administration and Congress work toward a consensus on the right path forward."

--    David Tovar, Vice President, Corporate Communications

When I told them that PR really didn't address the situation, I was transferred again and repeated the story again.  Really didn't get an answer at that time.  I was told they would call me back, but have not heard from them yet.  I hope that they do get back to me.  Seems to me that Walmart could or should put a statement similar to the World News Daily story that Peg linked on their News & Views section of their web sight.

I can see a store mgr making a decision blaming corporate so he doesn't take the heat, and corporate saying we haven't changed or made any policy changes.

Our local WallyWorld has always been slow to restock ammo anyway.

Same here. You have to "hit them" at the right time. If you don't the 9 MM will be gone in just a few hours. The Sporting Goods Manager told me what happens is as soon as they restock, people who are buying right away get on their cell phones and start calling their buddies. That brings in a stampede within an hour or so. Especially on weekends. Same deal with Cabela's. They have zero .223 and .308. I've seen people at both places on their phones spreading the word when they get any in stock.

Which is where I see the above sign originating from..... a local manager's bad interpretation of company breakroom hearsay.

On another forum they were talking about how Wally World had representatives at Biden's table for these anti gun talks. Word is they made a deal to stop selling for a break on Obamacare. They probably got an exemption, knowing Wallmart.
