1st Amendment?
2nd Amendment?
Dumb-ass of the year award?
All of the above?

Like Tom is getting at, Yeager's thought process and "sentiment" is correct and spot-on.......it was just his application and presentation that went horribly awry.

While I agree with the 1st Amendment right to say what you want, I also know that there are repercussions.
Yeager is the poster child for the "you really need to get someone to proof your material before the rant" club.

Heck, he painted a good example for what many pro-gun folks are calling for instead of gun bans (that being to screen for loonies).
We mostly all universally agree that the guns themselves are not the problem, and that guns should be available for legal ownership for anyone who is mentally and emotionally fit. So when Yeager plastered that video up for all to see, the LEO agencies only did what we ourselves have said needs to be done. Once they saw the video, if ANY percentage of credibility could be believed or understood to be possible to potentially occur, then they were obligated to act. He's lucky they only suspended his CCW permit.

If Yeager had just let a cooler head prevail, stopped, regrouped his thoughts, and then chose to articulate his words more carefully and strategically BEFORE rolling the camera, it wouldn't have become a blip on the radar.

Sad.

I expect it will come in the disease form, though. I'm susceptible to diseases, and you can't shoot a damned disease." ~ Judge Roy Bean, Streets of Laredo

He is simply advocating that the 2nd amendment be applied as intended.
His phrasing may be offensive, but I will point out that the people who talk nice have totally screwed us and the system.
Any one who disagrees with the sentiment he expresses (not necessarily the exact wording ) is either a coward, an idiot or a traitor.
"An "appeaser" is some one who feeds an alligator hoping it will eat him last"
......

Agreed.

I would submit that what happened to him in the suspension of his carry permit is nothing short of political oppression. Keep this in mind the next time you speak out in a public forum and advocate for a vigorous defense of your liberty. And this is also a great object lesson why we need to move away from carry permits to what is known as "constitutional carry" - no permit required.

The latest video:

In some regard, Mr. Yeager’s passion for the Second Amendment as a self-defense instructor is commendable and his statements in a way do help emphasize the unfeasibility of government firearm confiscation (though perhaps not in the way he originally intended).

Yet, despite his insistence in his follow up video to the contrary, his delivery—the swearing, the threatening violence and the repeated denial of these actions despite recorded evidence—likely does more harm to the image of gun owners than it does good.
And with a very real political battle ahead, gun-owners can’t afford to have the truth inherent in their argument clouded by emotional tantrums over speculative information.

I am reminded of a more vaguely threatening statement attributed to another self described protector of the Second Amendment: Speak softly, and carry a big stick.

Though I’m guessing Yeager’s lawyer reminded him of that.

He's a gutless weasel who is to timid to stand by what he said .

Alexander Hamilton: “The best we can hope for concerning the people at large is that they be properly armed,” adding later, “If the representatives of the people betray their constituents, there is then no recourse left but in the exertion of that original right of self-defense which is paramount to all positive forms of government.

James Madison: “(The Constitution preserves) the advantage of being armed, which the Americans possess over the people of almost every other nation … (where) the governments are afraid to trust the people with arms.”

Thomas Jefferson: “What country can preserve its liberties if its rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms.”

George Mason, author of the Virginia Bill of Rights, which inspired our Constitution’s Bill of Rights, said, “To disarm the people — that was the best and most effectual way to enslave them.”

Whenever the legislators endeavor to take away the property of the people, or to reduce them to slavery under arbitrary power, they put themselves into a state of war with the people, who are thereupon absolved from any farther obedience, and are left to the common refuge which God hath provided for all men against force and violence."
   -- John Locke

The liberties of our country, the freedom of our civil Constitution, are worth defending at all hazards; and it is our duty to defend them against all attacks. We have received them as a fair inheritance from our worthy ancestors: they purchased them for us with toil and danger and expense of treasure and blood, and transmitted them to us with care and diligence.

It will bring an everlasting mark of infamy on the present generation, enlightened as it is, if we should suffer them to be wrested from us by violence without a struggle, or to be cheated out of them by the artifices of false and designing men."   -- Samuel Adams

"The American republic is once again at risk. This time the threat lies not in internal disorder or foreign predators but in the contemporary exigencies of professionalism and careerism that dominate American politics. Those exigencies poison the prospects for real political representation in America and threaten the promise of democratic government."
-- Mark Petracca, University of California

"The liberties of a people never were, or ever will be, secure when the transactions of their rulers may be concealed from them."   -- Patrick Henry

"Our safety, our liberty, depends upon preserving the Constitution of the United States as our fathers made it inviolate. The people of the United States are the rightful masters of both Congress and the courts; not to overthrow the Constitution, but to overthrow the men who pervert the Constitution."   -- Abraham Lincoln

"On every unauthoritative exercise of power by the legislature, must the people rise in rebellion or their silence be construed into a surrender of that power to them? If so, how many rebellions should we have had already?"
   -- Thomas Jefferson

It is the duty of all citizens, irrespective of party, to denounce, and, so far as may be, to punish crimes against the public on the part of politicians or officials."   -- Theodore Roosevelt

"No country can be well governed unless its citizens, as a body, keep religiously before their minds that they are the guardians of the Law and that Congress is only the machinery for its execution, nothing more."
   -- Mark Twain

"The Constitution is not an instrument for the government to restrain the people; it is an instrument for the people to restrain the government - lest it come to dominate our lives and interests."   -- Patrick Henry

"Those who expect to reap the blessings of freedom must, like men, undergo the fatigue of supporting it." -- Tom Paine

"Don't interfere with anything in the Constitution. That must be maintained, for it is the only safeguard of our liberties."

- Abraham Lincoln

Anyone who clings to the historically untrue--and thoroughly immoral--doctrine that 'violence never solves anything' I would advise to conjure up the ghosts of Napoleon Bonaparte and the Duke of Wellington and let them debate it. The Ghost of Hitler could referee, and the jury might well be the Dodo, the Great Auk, and the Passenger Pigeon. Violence, naked force, has settled more disputes in history than has any other factor, and the contrary opinion is wishful thinking at its worst. Breeds that forget this basic truth have always paid for it with their lives and freedoms."

- Robert Heinlein, author

"We have therefore resolved to conquer or die: Our won Country's Honor, all call upon us for vigorous and manly exertion, and if we now shamefully fail, we shall become infamous to the whole world.  Let us therefore rely upon the goodness of the Cause, and the aid of the supreme Being in whose hands Victory is, to animate and encourage us to great and noble Actions."   -- George Washington

He's assembling his case for the review to get his permit back.

The only way Yeager can get his handgun permit back is to ask for a review of the department’s decision in the general sessions court, according WTVF-TV.

So is he an idiot, or the first causality?

I think he should fill out an ID10T form
“As democracy is perfected, the office of the President represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people.  On some great and glorious day, the plain folks of the land will reach their heart’s desire at last, and the White House will be occupied by a downright fool and a complete narcissistic moron.”  H.L. Mencken, The Baltimore Evening Sun,  July 26, 1920.

He's generally an idiot, but even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while.
