Why you need to carry a gun..
« on: January 13, 2013, 02:51:45 PM »
Are you sure you want Private Property Rights to extend to the Mall and other places where the public gather on "Private" property?
Look, I don't know where this happened, (besides in Charlotte), but based on the actions of the perp, I'm not sure he would've been restrained by the possibility of being in a weapons free zone (like a Mall) when he did this..

Police: Deaf Man Stabbed After His Sign Language Was Mistaken For Gang Signs
January 11, 2013 2:50 PM

BURLINGTON, N.C. (AP) — Police in Burlington say a deaf man was stabbed several times after his sign language was mistaken for gang signs by another man.

Sgt. Mark Yancey said 45-year-old Terrance Ervin Daniels was using sign language with another deaf man. A third person saw them, thought they were flashing gang signs and stabbed Daniels several times with a kitchen knife. A neighbor saw the victim and called emergency personnel.

Daniels is in stable condition at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill after Wednesday’s incident.

Police arrested 22-year Robert Jarell Neal and charged him with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury and felony assault on a handicapped person. He’s in the Alamance County jail on a $500,000 bond. It’s not known if Neal has an attorney.

With the exception of the post office which I don't use anymore unless absolutely necessary, there are no gun free zones for me!  I don't even look for the signs!

Schools, federal buildings, etc... I don't visit!  I carry everywhere!  Concealed means concealed...  I was armed when I voted in November as well!  Even walked up and shook the cops hand when I stuffed my ballot into the infernal machine...

here in AL, "Private Property" has a deep and historic meaning.
In the fight to redo the Gun Laws here, dealing with GFZs, like the Mall will be a hard sell indeed..
That's my "stressor of the day" today..

Believe it or not this isn't the first time a deaf person has been stabbed by some idiot thinking they're throwing gang signs.
""It may be laid down as a primary position, and the basis of our system, that every Citizen who enjoys the protection of a free Government, owes not only a proportion of his property, but even his personal services to the defence of it, and consequently that the Citizens of America (with a few legal and official exceptions) from 18 to 50 Years of Age should be borne on the Militia Rolls, provided with uniform Arms, and so far accustomed to the use of them, that the Total strength of the Country might be called forth at a Short Notice on any very interesting Emergency." - George Washington. So we should outlaw sign language to keep this from happening again, after all the deaf would much rather live than be mistaken for gang members and killed... ::)

Another option would be "Most Dangerous Game" licenses allowing the bearer to bag up to 3 Banger's a day .
This would reduce crime, lower the costs of law enforcement, generate revenue in the license fees, and guarantee that there would be no more mistakes since no one would dare throw "gang signs".

Magoo,

It depends on whether you want just the head, a full cape or the entire upper half to show the hands formed in the proper gang sign stuffed and mounted.

I LIKE THAT OPTION VERY, VERY MUCH!!!  I WILL BE FIRST IN LINE FOR THAT LICENSE!!   THE ONLY PROBLEM IS WHAT TO DO WITH ALL THE MEAT? DONATE IT TO THE ZOO  OR THE ANIMAL SHELTER??
