NRA Lotto
« on: January 14, 2013, 11:16:39 PM »
Hi folks, I'm back from Naples. The old man is doing well, and didn't need a second surgery on the heart, so that is good. I'm without easy net access there and that's why I have been absent. To Alf and Santa I will mail your stuff tomorow. . Sorry for the delay, but things looked pretty dire and it just wasn't a priority. My bad.
In my mail today, I got a letter from the NRA. It was like publisher's clearing house. I (and you, if you're a member, and shame on you if you aren't), can win either 21 guns and a safe, a new Dodge 4x4, or an Alaskan Bear hunt. Just because I know it will piss off the antis, I chose the gun option. I mean hell, I wouldn't know what to do with 21 guns, but I do know it will piss off people I detest, so I'll go with that, and besides, I'm a Ford guy and an Alaskan brown bear never did anything to me. I enclosed a fifty dollar contribution and will be getting a nice back pack. If you aren't an NRA member please fix that. There has never been a time so dire as now. Every dollar counts. Folks are talking about buying guns, ammo and mags before the ban. Why not spend a little bit of that money on the one organization who has a chance in hell of preventing that ban from happening?
Send money to the NRA! They aren't perfect, but they are the ones that the politicians listen to. GOA might be more in tune with our views, but they don't have the the clout. Now is not the time to let the perfect become the enemy of the good enough.

Nice to have you back.  Glad to hear your Dad is doing OK.

Just because I know it will piss off the antis, I chose the gun option.

Wise choice.  ;D

Glad you're back !!  Also very glad that your Dad is doing better.  Your advice on the NRA is spot on.

Everyone should also be aware that you can visit https://www.nra-2013.org/ to join, extend your membership, or upgrade to 'Life Membership' for $600 (a $400 savings).

Again FQ... very glad things are better for you and your Dad.  :)

Good to hear from you, and that things are on the upswing, FQ.
"I expect perdition, I always have. I keep this building at my back, and several guns handy, in case perdition arrives in a form that's susceptible to bullets. I expect it will come in the disease form, though. I'm susceptible to diseases, and you can't shoot a damned disease." ~ Judge Roy Bean, Streets of Laredo

For the Patriots of this country, the Constitution is second only to the Bible for most. For those who love this country, but do not share my personal beliefs, it is their Bible. To them nothing comes before the Constitution of these United States of America. For this we are all labeled potential terrorists. ~ Dean Garrison

Glad to hear Pappy is okay.

And your NRA advice is dead on.  They may not reflect all our needs and wants, but they are basically on our side in this fight and they are the biggest guys on the block.
