Got this in reply to my email to Mr. Larsen and yes I did reply. He does not like the 2nd amendment and I will not vote for him in reelection. WA state 2nd district. This is sad  

 
Dear Kevin:
 
Thank you for contacting me about the school shooting in Newtown, Connecticut. I appreciate hearing from you on this important issue.
 
My family and I join all Americans in grieving for the children, teachers and staff who had their lives taken from them in the vicious attacks at Sandy Hook Elementary School. We must pledge never to forget the victims of this senseless act of violence.
 
From the attack on Congresswoman Giffords that left six dead, to the shootings in Colorado, Wisconsin, Oregon and Connecticut, it is too painfully clear that we must take meaningful action to make our communities safer. The 2008 Skagit County mass shootings that killed six brought this type of tragedy to our home. No single law can prevent the actions of a madman, but that is no excuse to not take action.
 
I continue to hold my position that Congress should reinstate the assault weapons ban and ban high-capacity ammunition clips above 10 rounds per clip, as proposed by Representative McCarthy. These military-grade weapons serve no legitimate purpose in civilian life.
 
We must close the gun show and private sale loopholes and strengthen background check requirements to make sure that criminals and the mentally ill are unable to purchase guns.
 
Gun control is part, but not all of the solution. Mental illness has been shown to be a factor in some of these mass shootings. Mental illnesses are often misunderstood and under-diagnosed. Health providers need to give mental health the same attention that physical health is given. Congress should direct more research into mental illness and provide more funding for effective care of mentally ill patients.
 
We have not seen the last of violent crimes in our country, but if Congress and the President act, we can make our communities safer and shrink this cycle of violence.

Hi;

     At least he is not hideing from a direct question. He may feel that his district is behind him on this issue. Tis time that people in that district get a pro 2nd admendment candidate up and runing to take over his seat. Don't be surprised if there are Democrats in that area that would be willing to support such a candidate.

     A lot of Dems,Reps and indipendants are just fed up with what is going on and some people have regrets for voting Obama. I have a "StepGrandNiece" who is in her final year at college and the arm twisting/peer pressure that went on there is unbelieveable. It sounded as if the SS/Gestapo were monitoring every move of the kids there.

Larson is a Democrat. What the hell did you expect? There are NO Democrats who are totally for the 2A. They are all, despite what they claim, one arm twist away fro caving to Obama's wishes. And that arm twist usually is $$$$$.

I guess this is the line that really set me off. One the term military grade weapons is horrible. But also This is a personal problem and feeling. Is he not supposed to be representing the people in his district and I would be hard pressed in the new zoning that this is the consensus. But I may be completely wrong.

I know he had a huge campaign buget. Which won him the race. How do you think he got that money? Possibly by getting some donation from the companies that want military contracts. I know he sits on military committee. It just sucks to know that's who is representing me.

Funny how things work. I'm in "Blue Jersey", and my local Dem State Senator just sent me a gorgeous pro- 2A letter. He had been out to our shooting club a few times and he's a staunch 2 A advocate. Too bad he's only a STATE Senator...doesn't do much for us with the likes of Menendez and Lautenmummy around.

I just sent this to him. I know it's a lost cause but I have to.

I beg you again. This is the best I can do as a war veteran. And that is stand up for my country. I want you to read what Pres. Obama said today

 "Because while there is no law or set of laws that can prevent every senseless act of violence completely, no piece of legislation that will prevent every tragedy, every act of evil, if there is even one thing we can do to reduce this violence..."

He just proved my point. No law will stop this. Nor will it slow it down. Now please read this as well before I get another response.

I must beg you again to rethink your position. As I said before there are rights I don't feel good about or like personally but that doesn't matter. I will take the good with the bad. I'm sure you would agree the media should be reigned in at times. Especially when politicians do bad it does not help America as a whole to show our leaders as clowns and inept. I'm not a gun but either as I'm sure you think now when you see my email address. You probably think " oh it's that gun nut." It's not the case I'd be writing you if this was freedom of speech or even if it was the Third Amendment which bans my brother soldiers from quartering in your place of residence by force. Please look at facts and what gun laws have done in the past. Not one gun law can be related to stoping crime. Truth. Look at the percentage of population of women in Great Britain being raped and beaten. Why would that be I wonder? But of all else why have countries done their best to not attack the mainland of America. It's not cause of our stellar defense network. That has been proven. There is one sheriff for like 20 miles of coast line in Oregon. That's not a defense network I'd worry about. It's because we the people would be the worst "insurgents" anyone has ever seen. This is our country. It was set up a certain way. Don't take that now. Especially after a terrorist has committed a crime. You will be giving them the power.
