We went looking for a new house and found one about a mile or so from a public range that was PACKED.  The shop next o it was also PACKED.  Since we were out of staters (for now) all I got was powder for 223.

We didn't have a chance to go anywhere but I did upgrade to NRA Lifetime membership.

It's a great deal now... save $400.

I had planned on heading up to Salem, OR, 20 minutes up I-5, to join the HUGE crowd but the wifey was not feeling well so I stayed home and tumbled the 5,000 rounds of 45/5.56 brass my daughter and I policed Friday night  ;D

I did make a quick trip to Bi-Mart to get some containers to organize all my brass and swung by the gun counter to check on powder/primer availability-it looked like the cleaning lady got carried away.

I attended Gun Appreciation Day @ Denver, CO. There were a fair number of folks there (maybe 500 +/- ?) and some good speakers, a lawyer, a State Representative, a former anti-gunner turned CCW gun owner. One speaker now a U.S. citizen from a latin country run by a dictator was very adiment about not yielding our inalienable rights esp. 2A. He said lving in a country run by a dictator you never knew who came knocking at your door in the middle of the night or why . His brother was imprisoned for an unknown offense after being stopped at a check point.

Mencken, The Baltimore Evening Sun,  July 26, 1920.

These are the people that groups like the NRA, et al, need to capitalize on by putting them in TV and magazine ads.

As to the gun appreciation day, didn't go shooting....but did load up some new PMags and re-arranged one of my go-bags.  :D
"I expect perdition, I always have. I keep this building at my back, and several guns handy, in case perdition arrives in a form that's susceptible to bullets. I expect it will come in the disease form, though. I'm susceptible to diseases, and you can't shoot a damned disease." ~ Judge Roy Bean, Streets of Laredo

For the Patriots of this country, the Constitution is second only to the Bible for most. For those who love this country, but do not share my personal beliefs, it is their Bible. To them nothing comes before the Constitution of these United States of America. For this we are all labeled potential terrorists. ~ Dean Garrison

I just spent several hours at my favorite local gun shop.

I helped out a bit when they got overrun, and answered a few questions posed by sincere newbies.

I helped close a couple of sales--one on a pre-owned S&W .38 special revolver; and one on an evil, semi-automatic, black, extended magazine 9mm pistol personally made by Satan but marketed by that Nazi company, Sig-Sauer, expressly to murder small children and to shoot puppies and that has no legitimate reason to be owned by any right-thinking American because nobody needs to shoot that many bullets in an extended clip.  I felt particularly good about closing that second one.

Oh, and I sent in another years' membership to the NRA.

All in all, it was a pretty good day.

Even at a ball game, when someone talks during the anthem or doesn’t take off his hat, it pisses me off. I’m not one to be quiet about it, either.”  Chris Kyle

Columbus, Ohio.  Somewhere between 1000 and 1500 attendee's marching around the statehouse.  Speeches, other stuff.  4 hours of gladhanding.
