I think our bargaining position should be to repeal NICS altogether and to roll back 1968 GCA to do away with the 4473.

They don't really accomplish all that much except to keep the BATF busy.   A good case can be made that NICS is full of class A and class B errors.   Few are ever prosecuted for lying on the 4473 form.   Why even bother.  Things weren't that bad, pre-1968. 


That's my line in the sand.   Let's negotiate from that point.  NICS this year, 4473 next congress.

That is our Compromise position.

We demand repeal of the NFA, but to prove our willingness to compromise, we go with your proposal.
