I must confess that I am spending an awful lot of time thinking about Barack Hussein Obuma sitting here in Wonderland.  I hasten to add that it’s not, as is the case with Chris Matthews, because the senator sends shivers up my leg.  Rather, it’s because I simply can’t figure out how he’s managed to convince so many people that he should be the president of the United States.  Now if he were the anti-christ, I could understand.  It’s a lot like trying to figure out how Las Vegas magicians make lions and tigers disappear.

To be perfectly honest, I invariably feel that way about the candidates the Democrats try to foist off on us.  But, as a rule, guys like Dukakis, Gore and Kerry, are just typical party hacks.  But at least none of them attended a racist church, they didn’t associate with known terrorists and they usually didn’t display their contempt for national symbols and the U.S. military quite so blatantly.

Liberals have tried to convince me that Obama is brilliant.  I find that odd because he has said that there are 57 states, that JFK got the Russians to remove their missiles from Cuba by sitting down and chatting with Khrushchev, and that Iran doesn’t really constitute an actual threat because they don’t spend as much money on weaponry as we do.  Funny, but “brilliant” isn’t the first word that comes to mind.  But what do liberals know?  They were also convinced that Jimmy Carter was intelligent.

As if Obuma’s lack of smarts weren’t bad enough, he compounds the problem with his arrogance.  The way he’s forever tilting his head as if he were posing for a statue and employing the royal “we,” I’m never sure if he thinks he’s campaigning to be president of the United States or the queen of England.

Frankly, I’m always surprised when, every four years, the candidate with the (D) after his name is able to muster tens of millions of votes.  When you realize that the party has become increasingly Marxist, I find it mind-boggling that the Democrats can consistently fare better than the Greens or the Libertarians, in a national election.  God, what a party of IDIOTS!

If you listen to Obuma, you’d get the idea that we’re a third world nation, tottering on the edge of poverty.  Every word out of his mouth suggests that America is being ground down by corporations when every sane member of the middle class is well aware that the Democrats, who have never met a tax increase they didn’t love or an illegal alien they didn’t see as a potential vote, and who promote class and race warfare as party policy, pose more of a threat to this country than the Soviet Union ever did.  Hmmmm.. the way wall street is moving south....you know, he might have a point there... naw, he's an IDIOT!

Obuma and his fellow left-wingers keep parroting the line that all the other nations of the world hate us, but I’ve noticed that they never name names.  And who can blame them? They’re not likely to mention that they’re referring to the likes of Iran, China, Yemen, Venezuela, Russia, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and North Korea, just as they’re not likely to mention that England, France, Germany and Italy, have all elected conservative leaders in the past few years, while dumping the leftist likes of Mitterand and Schroder along the way.

Because the MSM adores Obuma, they continue to promote the notion of Obuma as a great orator, but he is actually no more silver-tongued than your average radio announcer reading ad copy for baby wipes.  The fact is that when asked a direct question, the man turns into a blithering idiot, even though you would imagine that by this late date he would have memorized the appropriate lines.  Perhaps the problem is that this new style politician is so driven by polls that from moment to moment he’s not sure exactly how he feels about the 16-month deadline in Iraq, the surge, offshore drilling for oil, election financing or dividing the city of Jerusalem.  Hell, he even changed his opinion about Reverend Wright overnight.  On one notable occasion, during the primaries, he was heard to ask if he could just have a moment to finish his waffle.  We all thought he was referring to his breakfast.  But apparently that wasn’t the case because the man hasn’t stopped waffling yet.

Even after all this time on the stump, I have yet to hear what he would have done about Saddam Hussein if he’d been president.  After all, his liberal colleagues had spent much of the 1990s insisting that there had to be a regime change in Iraq.  And as Georges Sada, Hussein’s air vice-marshal, has stated in his 2006 book, “Saddam’s Secrets,” Hussein had all the WMD that Kerry, Kennedy and the Clintons thought he had, but had his chemical arsenal airlifted to Syria after the allied invasion began, in the hope of convincing the world that he was the innocent victim of American aggression.

Knowing Obuma as we do, we can only assume that if he’d been occupying the Oval Office he would have sat down with Hussein, and through the sheer power of his personality and his white teeth -- or do I repeat myself? -- would have convinced the Butcher of Baghdad that while it’s nice to be important, it’s more important to be nice.

I deal with alot of truck drivers with my job, which can be interesting in itself. In my office at work you can tell who I am right away. Gun and hunting mags next to my desk and calenders and pics on the walls. So they always comment on them.

One day a couple of weeks ago. A driver came in to sign a bill of lading and he I had a little talk.
He said he was 70 years old and had to go back to work for all kinds of reasons. He's a life long Repulican and NRA lifer too.
It's sad the Repulicans can't come up with someone we (R) can get behind the way B HO has with the (D) have. He said.
Aren't their any young up and coming Repulicans ? He said it's hard for him to get behind Mcain.
But there is only one choice. He said he would have liked some better choices to choose from the Repulican party.

I seem to hear this all the time.  ???

Keep strike'n Warph ;D

We have two truly mediocre, pathetic people representing the two major parties.
Why?
Two parties, one purpose.
Rights are like muscles, when they are not exercised they atrophy.

It's amazing, both parties seem to offer up 'their' candidates reluctantly going into their respective conventions. They seem to pick mediocre at best & that way if they lose, they can say they didn't ruin a 'good' candidate. They will still have them in reserve for the next election cycle. Witness Kerry last time against an incumbant. BHo was a suprise to the Democrats. I don't think they actually expected him to do anything but get exposure during this campaign. And now it is rather late to ramp up McCain to win - but it is possible.

The media is slowly starting to back off on their bias, so they can be right again at the election - no matter what caos they caused. Happens every time & will until we call them on it. So far we have only made waves in the 'grassroots' press. And as usual it is ignored by voters - we're just the radical left or right depending on one's viewpoint. After the election we must contine to voice our opinions & feelings, no matter who wins. At least until Marshall law is commanded & we are disarmed & the free press is jailed for not carrying the party line.

Time will tell!

I overheard a conversation on the plane back from Huntsville Friday.  A lady was talking about how great Obuma was and that "although he doesn't have the experience his confidence will more than make up for it."  I was dumbfounded that someone would believe that confidence, or in this case blatant arrogance, would be a suitable substitute for experience and wisdom!  Other than Obuma being the first black candidate, I can’t think of a single good reason to vote for him!  Problem is to many people can’t see past his skin color and feel that it is the only reason to vote for him.

Down The Rabbit Hole: What always confounds me about the liberals.....

Recently, I read an article about a guy in Georgia who claimed that he could turn virtually anything, including grass clippings, garbage and, for all I know, John Kerry’s old speeches, into methane gas.  As I understand it, this fellow and the U.S. military are building seven pilot plants that he claims will provide America with one million barrels of oil a day.  If it all pans out the way it’s supposed to, additional plants will be built and within five or six years, we could be free of not only our dependence on foreign oil, but the need for Nancy Pelosi to come to her senses, (which probably will never happen, right , Nancy).  It is common knowledge that Nancy is so full of GAS that she could run Howard CO. for the next five years.

Getting back to the subject at hand, the guy in Georgia claims he got the notion while standing downwind from the cows at his food production company.  Which made me wonder why the idea hadn’t occurred to anyone standing downwind from our nation’s capitol.

Sometimes, I find myself almost feeling sorry for our so-called public servants.  But I quickly get over it.  All I have to do is consider the fact that the same louts who drag out Martin Luther King’s remark about character trumping color when they’re running for office don’t find anything obscene about the existence of something called the Congressional Black Caucus.  This is the group of scoundrels who gave an ovation to Louisiana’s Rep. William (“Cold Cash”) Jefferson, the fellow who had stashed a $90,000 bribe in his refrigerator, upon his triumphant return to the House of Representatives.

What always confounds me about the liberals in the House and Senate is how disrespectful they are of the president because he has a favorable rating of only about 30% when that’s three times higher than their own.  It’s also peculiar how much power and influence the Democrats hand over to the likes of Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Chris Dodo and Joe Biden, when, in their last elections, this tacky group garnered only 110,000, 494,000 and 135,000, 126,000 votes, respectively.  (Most of Harry's votes came from the Nevada ho's). That’s right -- little over three-quarters of a million votes between them, and they carry on as if they have a mandate from the American people.  Give me a break!

Speaking of numbers, I am constantly taken aback when pollsters claim that the coming election is neck-and-neck because McCain and Obama are separated by only one or two percent. Of course that has changed somewhat but, am I the only person who’s aware that it’s electoral votes, not popular votes, that matter in presidential elections?  For instance, if Obama runs up margins in the millions in New York, California and Massachusetts, he’ll still lose if McCain takes Ohio, Florida, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Texas, Minnesota, Virginia and Colorado, by margins in the thousands.  Who knows, McCain.... anything is possibe.  Polls really don't tell alot when the media is involved.  In fact, I can guarantee you that if they each take 48% of the popular vote, McCain will win the election without even breaking a sweat.  Again, it may not happen but, like I said, anything is possible here in Wonderland, folks.

The other day, one of the forum liberals (this is another forum that I'm on) sent me an e-mail.  He took exception to my claim that Democratic politicians were far worse than Republicans when it came to sticking their noses where they didn’t belong.  He wrote: “Other than telling us how to live, think, marry, pray, vote, invest, educate our children and, now, die, I think the Republicans have done a fine job of getting government out of our lives.”

I considered warning him that irony should be left to the professionals, but I wanted to maintain a courteous tone, so, instead, I wrote back: “Suggesting how one should live in order to lead a happier and healthier life is not the same thing as creating legislation that shreds the First and Second Amendments.  Please tell me anything the GOP has done that even comes close to being as un-American and as reminiscent of Orwell’s ‘1984’as that which is euphemistically referred to as the Fairness Doctrine.  And please don’t mention the Patriot Act unless you, unlike every other liberal I have ever argued with, can point to a single freedom it has cost you or anyone you know.  Only a liberal would regard talk radio as propagandist, while, at the same time, insisting that CNN, MSNBC, all the three major networks, the New York Times, the Washington Post and USAToday, are honest and objective in their reporting.  It seems to me that the only thing that America’s liberal media has against the managed news we associate with the Soviet Union’s Pravda and the Islamic Al Jazeera is that they didn’t think of it first.  If I knew his name, I would happily give him credit, but someone on the radio recently suggested that mainstream media is a misnomer.  He said it should be called the downstream media because it’s filled with sewage and manure.

“In conclusion, let me just say that in spite of my being a conservative and Barack Hussein Obuma’s being a Marxist, I have only one major difference with the man who was born to be the president of Kenya.  He thinks that when it comes to being the leader of the free world, deciding when life begins is the only thing above his pay grade.  I, on the other hand, think everything is.”
