LA cops shoot two innocents in manhunt

Police shoot two in Torrance in search for ex-LAPD cop

Los Angeles and Torrance police were involved in two shootings in Torrance early Thursday when police came across vehicles similar to the one sought by authorities in a massive manhunt for an ex-LAPD officer suspected of shooting three other officers.

Neither incident actually involved the suspect, said Torrance police Lt. Devin Chase. The suspect, Christopher Jordan Dorner, 33, was at large Thursday morning.

<snippage>

The California Highway Patrol issued a "blue alert" for nine Southern California counties. Officials said Dorner is believed to be driving a 2005 blue or gray Nissan Titan, with California license plate 8D83987 or 7X09131.

They shot at vehicles that looked like the one they are hunting???  WTF!!!
Note to LAPD: Nissan might have made more than one blue or gray truck.

And these are the Only Ones who can be trusted with guns?  ::) ::)
You can say lots of bad things about pedophiles; but at least they drive slowly past schools.

Just a little jumpy, aren't we?  They will probably end up with at least two days off work.

Remember they are trained professionals as well as reponsible gun owners - like the ones our politicians want the rest of country be like. ::)
“As democracy is perfected, the office of the President represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people.  On some great and glorious day, the plain folks of the land will reach their heart’s desire at last, and the White House will be occupied by a downright fool and a complete narcissistic moron.”  H.L. Mencken, The Baltimore Evening Sun,  July 26, 1920.

From Ichiban's linked report:

"Tragically, we believe this was a case of mistaken identity by the officers," said Beck.

Mistaken identity... you think !!!

Christopher Dorner - big, black, bald, male, 33 years old, numerous photos available for comparison, armed with guns
Emma Hernandez - female, 71 years old, and presumably Hispanic with smaller stature and hair, armed with newspapers

Yeah, I see the resemblance.  ::)

This is symptomatic of a police department that has issued orders to kill on sight, not capture, detain and arrest. That can mean only one thing: the LAPD doesn't want this man Dorner to talk. They just want him dead. And they will shoot up anyone that gets in the way or is mistaken for him.

Dorner has to recognize that and make contact with the press if he truly wants revenge, because it is what he knows that makes him dangerous to the LAPD, not his one-man stand against the force! The LAPD, or CHPs, or FBI will kill him sooner or later. That's the way it always ends: death by his own hand or 650 police fired bullets!

Makes me think of (F Fwd to the 3:45 mark):

"I expect perdition, I always have. I keep this building at my back, and several guns handy, in case perdition arrives in a form that's susceptible to bullets. I expect it will come in the disease form, though. I'm susceptible to diseases, and you can't shoot a damned disease." ~ Judge Roy Bean, Streets of Laredo

For the Patriots of this country, the Constitution is second only to the Bible for most. For those who love this country, but do not share my personal beliefs, it is their Bible. To them nothing comes before the Constitution of these United States of America. For this we are all labeled potential terrorists. ~ Dean Garrison

The two women shot and wounded by Los Angeles police during the manhunt for renegade ex-officer Christopher Dorner are "not doing well," their attorney said Thursday at a news conference to announce a resolution to the loss of their bullet-riddled pickup truck.

Margie Carranza, 47, and her mother, Emma Hernandez, 71, will receive $40,000 to replace the truck, Los Angeles City Attorney Carmen Trutanich said.
